Beyond the core choice of Assault, Engineer, Support, or Recon, Battlefield 6 introduces a deeper layer of strategy with Class Specializations. This system, also known as Training, allows you to further refine your role on the battlefield by unlocking unique passive perks and a powerful Active Ability during a match. Understanding these paths is key to maximizing your effectiveness.

This guide breaks down the default traits of each class and details all the specializations currently available, including their game-changing ultimate abilities. We’ll also touch on what this system means for the future of class warfare in Battlefield 6.

Assault: The Frontline Rusher

The Assault class is built for aggressive, objective-focused gameplay. They excel at breaking through enemy lines and surviving intense firefights.

Default Class Traits:

  • Weapon Proficiency (Assault Rifles): Faster weapon draw and switch times, allowing for quicker reactions in close-to-mid-range combat.
  • Signature Trait (Soft Landing): Take reduced fall damage and suffer no movement penalty after a high drop, perfect for maintaining momentum.
  • Signature Gadget (Adrenaline Injector): A self-use stim that provides temporary resistance to blast and suppression damage.

Frontliner

This path doubles down on survivability, turning you into a relentless attacker.

  • Perks: Gain faster health regeneration and carry an additional Adrenaline Injector. You also have reduced movement penalties while firing your weapon.
  • Active Ability (Combat Stimulant): Pop this ultimate to reveal all nearby enemies on your minimap. Each kill you get while it’s active extends its duration, allowing you to clear entire objectives with full situational awareness.

Grenadier

The ideal choice for breaching and clearing fortified positions.

  • Perks: Carry additional grenades, reload your launchers faster, and gain a resistance to flashbang effects.
  • Active Ability (Heavy Flak): Temporarily grants a massive increase in your resistance to explosive damage, allowing you to survive artillery strikes or push through a hail of grenades.

Engineer: The Vehicle Dominator

The Engineer is the ultimate counter to enemy armor and the savior of friendly vehicles. Their role is to control the flow of mechanized warfare.

Default Class Traits:

  • Weapon Proficiency (SMGs): Improved hip-fire accuracy, making you deadly in the close-quarters engagements often found around vehicles.
  • Signature Trait (Flak Jacket): Passively take less damage from all explosive sources.
  • Signature Gadget (Repair Tool): Repair friendly vehicles and equipment, or use it to damage enemy hardware.

Anti-Armor

This Class Spec focuses entirely on destroying enemy vehicles with overwhelming firepower and is arguably the most valuable out of various niche Battlefield 6 Class Specializations.

  • Perks: Carry extra rocket ammunition and reload your launchers faster. Your rockets also apply a debuff that makes damaged vehicles harder to repair.
  • Active Ability (Termite Drone): Deploy a guided suicide drone that can be flown directly into enemy vehicles, disrupting their systems and causing significant damage.

Combat Engineer

For players who want to keep their team’s armor in the fight no matter what.

  • Perks: Automatically repair the vehicle you are occupying. Your Repair Tool also works more efficiently and overheats slower.
  • Active Ability (Power Repair): For a short duration, your Repair Tool is supercharged, fixing vehicles at a massively increased speed without any risk of overheating.

Support: The Team Anchor

The Support class is the backbone of any successful squad. They provide crucial ammo, health, and suppressive fire to keep the team pushing forward.

Default Class Traits:

  • Weapon Proficiency (LMGs): Suffer no movement speed penalty while wielding bulky Light Machine Guns.
  • Signature Trait (Quick Revive): Revive downed teammates faster than any other class.
  • Signature Gadget (Supply Bag): Drop a bag that provides both ammunition and health regeneration to nearby allies.

Combat Medic

The ultimate healer, focused on keeping teammates alive in the thick of combat.

  • Perks: Teammates can interact with you directly to get health. You also regenerate your own health while reviving a teammate.
  • Active Ability (Active Medic): For a limited time, you emit a healing aura similar to a Supply Crate, constantly healing nearby allies. Your revive speed is also dramatically increased.

Fire Support

This path is for players who want to lock down objectives with heavy firepower and defensive positions.

  • Perks: Gain improved weapon stability when your weapon is mounted on cover. Teammates can also take ammo directly from you.
  • Active Ability (Indirect Fire): Your indirect fire gadgets, like mortars, fire faster and your Airburst Launchers carry more ammunition, allowing you to bombard an objective relentlessly.

Recon: The Information Gatherer

The Recon class controls the flow of information, spotting enemies from afar and creating strategic opportunities for their squad.

Default Class Traits:

  • Weapon Proficiency (Sniper Rifles): Hold your breath longer to stabilize your aim and rechamber rounds more quickly between shots.
  • Signature Trait (Auto-Spot): Enemies you look at while aiming down sights are automatically spotted for your team.
  • Signature Gadget (Motion Sensor): A deployable device that reveals moving enemies on the minimap.

Sniper

The master of long-range elimination, making every shot count.

  • Perks: Your Auto-Spot is faster and lasts longer. Enemies hit by your sniper rifle have their healing interrupted, and headshot kills cannot be revived.
  • Active Ability (UAV Call-In): Call in a personal UAV drone that flies above you, spotting and highlighting enemies in a wide radius for you and your squad.

Pathfinder

The most stealth-focused out of all Battlefield 6 Class Specializations – get behind enemy lines and set up flanking routes.

  • Perks: You are hidden from enemy motion sensors unless sprinting, and enemies you kill do not scream or leave a death marker on the minimap.
  • Active Ability (Squad Beacon): Deploy a tactical spawn beacon that allows your squadmates to parachute into a location of your choice, creating a surprise attack.

Upcoming Class Specializations

While DICE has not yet announced specific new specializations, the “Training” system is clearly designed for expansion. It’s likely that future seasons and content updates will introduce new paths for each class, offering even more ways to tailor your playstyle. We will update this article as soon as new information becomes available.
