How to Find the Melted Moat Key in Grounded

To find the Melted Moat Key:

• Head into the Sandbox area and spot the large spade sticking out of the ground
• Wait until 15:30 in-game time for the shovel’s shadow to mark the dig location
• Dig with any Tier 2 shovel (e.g., Black Ant Shovel) to excavate the key

Locate the Spade in the Sandbox

Make your way to the Sandbox biome and find the distinctive spade protruding from the sand.

Wait for the 15:30 Shadow Alignment

Pause the game to check the clock—when it reads 15:30, the spade’s shadow will align perfectly, indicating where to dig for the key.

Dig with a Tier 2 Shovel

Once the shadow is pointing correctly, dig at the shadowed spot using a Tier 2 shovel. Four digs should reveal the Melted Moat Key.

Find the Melted Moat Chest

After obtaining the key, swim to the water-filled moat at the southwest of the Sandcastle.

Once arriving here, swim into the water and you will see the Melted Moat Chest.

Use the key on the chest there to retrieve the Milk Molar and Water Logged Recipe, which unlock the Salt Morning Star schematic.
