Damage Bastions: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
Trials in ARC Raiders brings together the community to complete various challenges week by week to be placed on a competitive leaderboard. Raiders are tasked with participating in 5 different Trials (which rotate into a new set of Trials every week too), the goal is simple – gain as much score as possible in each Trial objective in an attempt to promote in Trial Rank. Of course, plenty of Raiders only want to cash in their quick 4000 score for the 3-Star rewards each week too. In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and Damage Bastions to maximize your score (or get your fill and get out) and etch your place in the Speranza Hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 4000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for this Trial is simple. In this case, a Bastion on a 2x event modifier nets you around 4500~ score.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires dealing as much damage to Bastions as possible within the raids time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a good weapon for killing smaller ARC and large ARC-killing utility. We recommend bringing:
- Anvil IV (Can be Anvil I but IV is preferred for the Fire Rate)
- Any Augment that allows for 2+ Safe Pockets
- Light Shield minimum
- 10 Shield Rechargers
- 10-15 Bandages
- 160+ Heavy Ammo
- 10-15 Adrenaline Shots
- 2-5 Smoke Grenades
- 3 Trigger ‘Nades (Optional)
- 3 Ziplines
As for Bastion-specific destroying utility, we recommend bringing:
- Hullcracker (entirely optional, can be decent if a whole trio brings them)
- 3-5 Deadline Mines
- Photoelectric Cloak
Most of the above can be tweaked to your preference, however, this set-up ensures you can move around the map, effectively deal with all ARC threats, quickly take out Bastions, and get out of trouble from other Raiders.
Map
The best map to push for an effective score is Dam Battlegrounds with the Electromagnetic Storm 2x Modifier enabled. However, any 2x modifier can work if it comes down to it. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
Damaging and Destroying the Bastion
The best way to quickly achieve high damage and destroy the Bastion is to approach it with a Photoelectric Cloak from behind. Once you’re right on top of the Bastion, you can then set a Deadline Mine onto the back of it. You’ll only have a short time to retreat before the huge explosion goes off – take cover!
It’s very important that you destroy the Bastions even when it isn’t the primary objective. This is because each large ARC you destroy has the potential to:
- Immediately bring another big ARC to the map
- Put that Bastion spawn on a respawn timer (of around 5-7~ minutes)
As a result, the faster you can put the Bastions on their respawn timer – the more you’ll damage through the raid for maximum score.
The BEST Route for Maximizing Score
Depending on your spawn, you can start the rotation on either side of the map and it will not make a difference. For the guides example, we’ll start out from Power Generation Complex.

Power Generation Complex
First, you’ll want to head to the first Bastion, located between the Power Control and Pipeline Tower. Hide behind some cover or inside one of the small buildings to get close enough to use your Photoelectric Cloak to the Bastion.
Hydrophonic Dome Complex
Next, set-up a Zipline from the top of Power Control down to the ground floor – towards the Hydrophonic Dome Complex. This Zipline is especially useful as you’ll be able to return to it later to rotate faster. Head through to the Dome Complex and locate the Bastion. It is important to find decent cover whether it’s inside the domes or hiding under ditch ledges until you’re close enough to the Bastion.
Maintenance
To start, make a Zipline down from the bottom of Maintenance (coming from Hydrophonic) up to the edge of Maintenance. The Maintenance section of the map is actually typically home to a Bombardier at the start of a raid. However, if you destroy the Bombardier, there is a small chance it respawns as a Bastion. Due to this, we recommend destroying the Bombardier while waiting for the Bastion respawns if you can to further increase your chances for maximum score. You can deal with the Bombardiers the same way you would the Bastions. Be it Hullcracker(s), Deadline, Wolfpack Grenades etc.
Once this rotation has been completed once and you have Ziplines set-up, you can now head back to whichever Bastion you put on a respawn timer first. Repeat this process until you have to extract!
This method works solo or as part of a team, as mentioned, while Deadlines are the most quick and effective, you may find taking your time more with a Hullcracker from a distance or even spamming tons of Wolfpacks to be quicker for you.
Easy way to 3-star Damage Bastions
To quickly earn a 3-star (4000 score) score for Damage Bastions, you can honestly go to any Map to complete this. If you cannot bring a Deadline mine to quickly deal with a Bastion and extract, you can bring another cheap alternative – 20-30 Light Impact Grenades. Utilizing Light Impact Grenades, you can take a safe distance and spam the center-mass of the Bastion with Grenades until you reach 4000 score. Any potential missing score can be covered by shooting the knee joints and back-power supply of the Bastion with an Anvil. As soon as you’re done, you can head to your nearest extract to secure the score.
