Soldier's Journal
Description
That dream again... Trapped in a dark, damp cave, choking on the stench of blood... I stood beside Lieutenant Mihake, awaiting General Lowrum's command. No one dared open the gate, let alone step outside. Soldiers wailed for mercy, eyes rotting, faces wrecked by starvation...and I among them. The general promised he would come. But not a word. Not a soul... Eventually, the lieutenant collapses. And I, too, fall to the rot...for what feels like eternity... When I finally awoke, I found myself drenched in cold sweat. I was in pain. Afraid...strangely sorrowful... Mihake and Lowrum... I do not recall these names. I do not wish to dream of this again. The very thought of sleep fills me with dread.
