Wardogs Maps

Early Access battlegrounds

Wardogs Interactive Maps

Three maps ship with Wardogs and only Bakurani is playable today. Explore it below with tower locations, Control Zone positions, faction spawns and every named area on the map.

After the Closed Beta

The European battleground

The second of the three launch battlegrounds moves the fighting to Western Europe. Its name has not been announced, and neither has a date beyond arriving after the Closed Beta weekend.

After the Closed Beta

The North American battleground

The third crosses the Atlantic to North America. As with the European map, nothing official has been published beyond the fact that it ships in the Early Access launch set.

How a Wardogs map is played

The Control Zone

One zone near the centre of the map is the objective for the whole match. Every player standing inside it adds a point to their faction count, and the highest count holds the zone until the tick bar fills and scores a match point. Its position moves between set locations, so the towers that matter change with it.

Towers and the Hot Zone

Towers are the capture points inside the Control Zone, and only some of the towers on the map are live objectives. A smaller Hot Zone roams within the zone as well, and players standing in it count double toward the faction count and earn extra cash, which pulls fights to one corner at a time.

Three factions, 99 players

Matches are fought between three factions of 33 players: Lonestar, Valkyra and Manticore. You pick a side each time you play rather than being assigned one. The colour of the Control Zone tells you who currently holds it, and our map lets you preview each faction's colours over the towers.

What is on the Bakurani map

Bakurani is 256 square kilometres of Eastern European mountains, and the other two maps coming after the Closed Beta are the same size again, set in Western Europe and North America. Very little of that is ever in play. Bakurani sits in a valley with a town on the floor, cultivated parcels spreading out from it and steep forested ridges on both sides. The town and the factory district next to it are where the Control Zone usually lands, so most of a match is fought over a few hundred metres of apartment blocks, industrial sheds and the road between them.

Our interactive map plots the tower capture points with their in-game names, so you can tell Tower 1 from Tower 5 L at a glance, and separates the towers that can actually be captured from the abandoned ones that only look like objectives. On top of that it carries the named control areas from the game's own data, the settlement and terrain labels used for callouts, faction spawns, safe zones, garage vendors, vehicle deployment boards and fuel points, plus every ladder and barbed wire run placed in the level.

The Control Zone itself is drawn as an overlay you can switch between its known positions. That is the fastest way to see which towers are in play before a match starts, because a tower that is comfortably inside the zone in one position can sit outside it in another.
