It's been three days since I began deciphering the inscription on the Black Iron backside. I've made some progress with the text on the surface, but the Ipnyish script is difficult to parse. I can look up each word well enough, yet the meaning always seems to slip away once I piece the sentence together. Deshi Vno Giora. Giora Kosanni Minta Pergat. I think it means, "One who crossed the rift, I shall rend asunder and scatter it across the earth." Then again...I could be completely wrong. It seems to be addressed to Akasch, at least. I finally admitted defeat and brought it to the chief. Turns out there's an archeologist in Delphinad who specializes in Ipnyish. The chief promised to introduce us the next time we travel to the Heartland. If I'm being honest, I'm looking forward to that more than solving this inscription. If I can truly learn Ipnyish, this won't be the last Efys text I'll be able to read. I hope that day comes soon. Giles
