Crimson Desert

Here are the full Crimson Desert system requirements for PC, console performance targets, and platform details ahead of the game’s launch on March 19, 2026. Pearl Abyss has provided detailed specs across four PC tiers – from a nearly decade-old GTX 1060 at the minimum all the way up to an RTX 5070 Ti for Ultra 4K gameplay. Console players get multiple performance modes on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The game is built on Pearl Abyss’s proprietary BlackSpace Engine and supports DLSS 4.5 and FSR 4 for upscaling on PC. Below is a full breakdown of everything you need to know to check if your hardware can run Crimson Desert.

Crimson Desert – Platforms on Release

Crimson Desert is available on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Mac. It is a current-gen only title – there is no PS4 or Xbox One version. The Mac version is only available as a Digital Standard Edition and does not include the pre-order bonus.

A few important platform notes: Crimson Desert is not on Xbox Game Pass at launch. However, it does support Xbox Play Anywhere, which means if you buy the game on Xbox, you also get the PC version for free via the Xbox PC app. The game requires an internet connection for initial setup but can be played offline after that. It also uses Denuvo DRM on PC, which has been a point of concern for some players, though Pearl Abyss has stated that early gameplay footage was captured with DRM active in the background.

Crimson Desert System Requirements: PC Specs

Pearl Abyss has provided Crimson Desert system requirements across four PC tiers. The good news is that the minimum specs are surprisingly accessible – you can get the game running on hardware that’s nearly a decade old. The bad news is that pushing to 1440p or 4K at smooth frame rates demands serious GPU power. All tiers require 16GB RAM minimum and a 150GB SSD – there’s no HDD option, so make sure you have enough solid-state storage cleared.

Crimson Desert PC specs details.

Minimum – 1080p upscaled from 900p, 30 FPS
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X / Intel Core i5-8500
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060 / AMD RX 5500 XT
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 150GB SSD
OS: Windows 10 64-bit (22H2 or newer)

Medium – 1080p 60 FPS / 4K 30 FPS
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 / Intel Core i5-11600K
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 2080 / AMD RX 6700 XT
RAM: 16GB
Storage: 150GB SSD

High – 1440p 60 FPS
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 / AMD RX 7700 XT

Ultra – 4K 60 FPS
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti / AMD RX 9070 XT

The jump from Minimum to Medium is where the biggest quality-of-life improvement happens – you go from an upscaled 30 FPS experience to native 1080p at 60 FPS, which is a massive difference in how the combat feels. If you can hit the Medium tier, that’s the sweet spot for most players.

Crimson Desert System Requirements: Console Performance

Pearl Abyss has outlined targeted performance for each console. Most consoles offer three modes – Performance, Balanced, and Quality – letting you choose between smoother frame rates or higher visual fidelity.

PS5 Pro: The best console experience. Upscaled 4K at 60 FPS in Performance and Balanced modes, or Native 4K at 30 FPS in Quality mode.

PS5: Performance, Balanced, and Quality modes are available. Specific resolution and frame rate targets are expected to be confirmed closer to or at launch.

Xbox Series X: Upscaled 4K at 30 FPS with high ray tracing in Quality mode. Performance and Balanced modes are also available for higher frame rates at lower resolutions.

Xbox Series S: 720p at 40 FPS in Performance mode, or 1080p at 30 FPS in Quality mode. No ray tracing on Series S.

Crimson Desert Requirements: Download Size

Plan ahead – Crimson Desert is a big install. The Steam listing requires 150GB of SSD storage, and the console versions are expected to land somewhere between 100-150GB (an Xbox listing briefly showed 113GB before being removed). Pre-loading is available 48 hours before launch on PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam, so if you pre-ordered, you can start downloading on March 17 in most regions. Given the size, starting the pre-load as early as possible is highly recommended.
