As we get closer to a Beta release for Funcom’s upcoming MMO Dune Awakening questions regarding the framework and engine that are supposed to power this new ambitious MMO from Funcom have started to arise. Is Dune Awakening on Unreal Engine 5?

We might have recently gotten the answer we were looking for during the newest alpha teaser trailer. 

Although we have found no official comment or confirmation on the engine used to create Dune Awakening. 

The latest in engine footage shown in this pre alpha teaser trailer has given the internet strong impressions that Dune Awakening will be built using Unreal Engine 5.

This is great news for the graphical fidelity and performance of the game. Although it can be argued it has a chance to push back the development time table by a significant amount. As it would be Funcom’s first title in the new Engine. Make sure you sign up for the Dune Awakening Beta.
