We’re following the Crosswind development closely and we’re really excited to see the updates that are coming out for this Piratey Game!

Yar_Master on Discord shared some new footage of the game today as members of the community are really eager to see some combat footage. He said “We are assembling and testing the build for the upcoming Alpha test, and today I’ve spent some good time with the team testing sea combat. It’s still very basic (and will be on Alpha), but it’s a foundation we will test more (with your help) and build on. These are very short glimpses, but I tried to capture some interesting details for you.”

For an Alpha the footage is looking really nice, the wood flying when cannons hit the side of the boat feels good and the general feel looks fantastic.

In this short video we can see the player controlling the boat and your character spinning the helm trying to line up the cannons. I think it could be interesting to see the game without the cannon guide lines, but either way, when the canons fire, they look like they will feel impactful and fun!

The Final video shows an awesome battle between the player ship again and what is called the “Cutter”, we’re not 100% sure if this is the player name, or the name of the ship!
You can also notice in the enemy ship that the sails have been torn due to combat, perhaps this is a mechanic which will slow down the ship to allow you to catch up and broadside them!
