After a summer of fantastic releases, the list of New Games in September 2025 is absolutely packed with some of the most anticipated titles of the year. This month is defined by legendary returns and long-awaited sequels that fans have been waiting years to play.

The moment the entire indie world has been waiting for is finally here with the release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. On the AAA front, the iconic looter-shooter franchise returns with Borderlands 4, and the legendary horror series is reborn with the haunting new entry, Silent Hill f. Get ready, because September is going to be a huge month for gaming!

September 2 – Metal Eden

Metal Eden is an adrenaline-fueled sci-fi first-person shooter set in a world where humanity’s consciousness has transcended flesh and now resides within robotic bodies. Players control a powerful hyper unit named ASKA, sent on a mission to rescue citizen COREs from a deadly orbital city named MOEBIUS. The gameplay is centered around high-speed cybernetic warfare, featuring advanced parkour mechanics and battles against a diverse roster of agile mecha troops.
September 3 – Hirogami

Hirogami is a 3D action-platformer set in a beautiful world inspired by the ancient Japanese art of origami. Players control Hiro, a fan-wielding master of the art of “folding,” on a mystical journey to save his fragile paper home from enigmatic digital invaders known as the Blight. Gameplay involves transforming into different animal forms, such as an armadillo or an ape, to traverse the world, solve puzzles, and combat enemies, all accompanied by a soundtrack composed with traditional Japanese instruments.
September 4 – Hell is Us

Hell is Us is a third-person action-adventure game set in an isolated country ravaged by both a civil war and a mysterious calamity. Players must explore a semi-open world to unravel the secrets of their past and confront supernatural creatures that modern weapons cannot defeat. The gameplay combines intense melee combat with a unique, player-driven exploration system that features no map, compass, or quest markers, forcing players to rely on their instincts.
September 4 – Adventure of Samsara

In Adventure of Samsara, players take on the role of the Solar Champion, a hero resurrected to restore balance to the multiverse. The gameplay involves exploring 10 distinct biomes, battling powerful mutant bosses, and unlocking new abilities in a deeply connected world. September 4 – Hollow Knight: Silksong

September 5 – Cronos: The New Dawn

From developer Bloober Team, Cronos: The New Dawn is a third-person survival horror game with a unique time-traveling premise set in a world blending Eastern European brutalism with retro-futurist technology. Players assume the role of a “Traveler” who explores a ravaged future wasteland and dives into time rifts leading to 1980s-era Poland to extract the “Essences” of key individuals who perished in an apocalypse. A core gameplay mechanic involves burning defeated enemies to prevent them from merging into more powerful abominations.
September 5 – Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2
The sequel to the 2019 mech-action game, Titanic Scion takes the franchise in a new direction with a vast open world that can be explored on land or in the air. Players pilot a fully customizable suit of armor known as an Arsenal, engaging in high-speed combat against both mechanical and organic enemies. The game features a dark sci-fi story and supports both solo play and online co-op for up to three players, with a free demo covering the first nine chapters of the story.
September 5 – NBA 2K26

The latest installment in the premier basketball simulation franchise, NBA 2K26 promises smoother, cleaner, and more responsive gameplay powered by ProPLAY technology, which translates real NBA footage into in-game animations. The game features the return of its core modes, including MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and The W, with a renewed focus on hyper-realism in its presentation. A notable new addition is the full integration of WNBA players into the popular card-collecting MyTEAM mode for the first time.,
September 9 – Bubsy in: The Purrfect Collection

This collection serves as a playable history of one of the 1990s’ most infamous platforming mascots. It includes emulated versions of Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind, Bubsy II, Bubsy in: Fractured Furry Tales, and the notorious Bubsy 3D. The collection, curated by the world’s foremost Bubsy expert, also features scans of historical artifacts and video interviews that explore the franchise’s troubled development and enduring cult popularity.
September 11 – Shape of Dreams
PC
Shape of Dreams is an action roguelite that blends its genre’s typical mechanics with MOBA-style controls and combat elements. Players venture into the realm of dreams, editing the “Memories” of heroes to create their own unique champion with a custom set of skills. The game features fast-paced, dreamlike action across ever-changing realms and can be played solo or in online co-op with up to four players.
September 12 – Borderlands 4
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
The next mainline entry in the iconic looter-shooter series, Borderlands 4 brings its signature mayhem to the all-new planet of Kairos. Players will choose one of four new Vault Hunters to battle against the oppressive Timekeeper, a ruthless dictator who dominates the masses. The game promises billions of wild weapons, deep skill trees for character customization, and enhanced movement abilities like double jumping and grappling, all set within a vast and seamless world that can be explored solo or in four-player online co-op.
September 15 – LEGO Voyagers

From the makers of LEGO Builder’s Journey, this title is a two-player cooperative adventure centered on friendship and play. Players control two LEGO bricks who must tumble, jump, and snap together to solve poetic, nonverbal puzzles across beautiful, diorama-style brick-built environments. The game is designed from the ground up for co-op and can be played either locally on the same screen or online.
September 17 – Strange Antiquities

A follow-up to the acclaimed puzzle game Strange Horticulture, this title places players in the role of a custodian of a shop dealing in occult antiquities. Set in the quaint and gloomy town of Undermere, players must explore, find, and identify arcane artifacts. These objects are then used to aid the townsfolk with their unusual problems, all while uncovering a darker mystery that begins when hundreds of ravens start circling over the town.
September 18 – Frostpunk 2
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
The sequel to the BAFTA-nominated society survival game, Frostpunk 2 is set 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard of the original. The age of steam has passed, and oil is now humanity’s newest hope for salvation. As the Steward of the city, players must manage resources and navigate the conflicting demands of powerful factions in a world still gripped by a never-ending winter, making difficult choices that shape the future of society.
September 19 – Dying Light: The Beast
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
This standalone entry in the Dying Light series sees the return of the first game’s protagonist, Kyle Crane. After escaping years of painful experiments that have left him with both human and zombie DNA, Crane struggles to control his inner beast while seeking revenge. The game is set in the open world of Castor Woods and combines the series’ signature first-person parkour and brutal combat with new beast-like powers and the return of drivable vehicles.
September 19 – Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree

This title is a roguelite action game with a vibrant, painterly art style. Players take on the role of Towa, a young warrior tasked with protecting a sacred tree from demonic forces. The gameplay involves fast-paced combat, exploring procedurally generated environments, and forging unbreakable bonds with allies to unlock new abilities and face down destiny.
September 19 – Wander Stars
PC, Nintendo Switch
Wander Stars is a turn-based RPG with roguelite elements presented in the style of a 1990s anime series. Players follow the story of Ringo, a young martial artist, and Wolfe, a mysterious scoundrel, as they team up to find the pieces of the Wanderstar Map. The game’s unique combat system has players create their own attacks by combining different words, allowing for experimental and strategic fighting techniques like a “SUPER AWESOME FIRE KICK”.
September 23 – Slime Rancher 2 Full Release
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Following a successful period in early access, Slime Rancher 2 receives its full 1.0 launch. The game continues the adventures of Beatrix LeBeau as she journeys to the mysterious Rainbow Island to build a new ranch in a beautiful glass conservatory. Players will discover and wrangle an avalanche of new slimes, collect resources to upgrade their vacpack and gadgets, and unravel the ancient mysteries of the island, which now includes a dynamic weather system.
September 23 – Baby Steps
PC, PlayStation 5
From the creators of Ape Out and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, Baby Steps is a physics-based adventure game described as a literal walking simulator. Players step into the underused limbs of Nate, an unemployed “failson” who discovers he has the power to put one foot in front of the other. The gameplay involves controlling each of Nate’s legs individually to stumble and wobble through a world shrouded in mist, featuring a dynamic soundtrack that adapts to the player’s steps and missteps.
September 25 – Consume Me
PC
Consume Me is a darkly humorous, semi-autobiographical slice-of-life RPG about the struggles of being a teenager. Players take on the role of Jenny as she navigates her final year of high school, dealing with themes of dieting, disordered eating, and fatphobia. The gameplay is composed of various minigames and puzzles, such as meticulously scheduling her day to “glow-up,” solving the puzzle of dieting for each meal, and doing chores to earn money from her mom.
September 25 – Silent Hill f
PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
Silent Hill f is a completely new story in the legendary horror franchise, set in 1960s Japan. The story, written by Ryukishi07 (famed for Japanese visual novels dealing with murder mysteries and psychological horror), follows a young woman named Hinako whose secluded town is consumed by a mysterious fog, transforming it into a haunting nightmare. Players must navigate the twisted world, solve complex puzzles, and confront grotesque monsters to survive.
September 25 – Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2
This new entry in the Sonic racing series expands the roster and track selection by introducing a multiverse concept. Players race across land, sea, air, and space, warping through “Travel Rings” into new dimensions that change the landscape of each race. The game features the largest roster in a Sonic racing game to date and includes crossover characters from other franchises like SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, alongside extensive vehicle customization.
September 26 – Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch
A new entry in the long-running Atelier RPG series, this title follows two protagonists, Rias and Slade, as they return to their lost hometown to rebuild it and uncover the truth behind a mysterious disaster. The game features the series’ signature alchemy-based synthesis system, now called “Gift Color Synthesis,” alongside a strategic timeline-based command battle system. Players will also manage a shop to sell their creations and invest the profits to further develop the town, unlocking new recipes and story elements.
September 26 – EA Sports FC 26

The third installment since EA’s rebranding from the FIFA name, EA Sports FC 26 continues to build on the foundation of the world’s most popular football simulation. A key new feature is the introduction of two distinct gameplay presets, “Competitive” and “Authentic,” designed to tailor the experience for different modes and player types. The game also promises more responsive dribbling, smarter AI positioning, and new Player Roles, with many of these changes directly informed by community feedback.
September 26 – NBA BOUNCE
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch
NBA BOUNCE is a family-friendly, arcade-style basketball game featuring fast-paced 3v3 action. Designed with younger players in mind, it has easy-to-learn controls and includes all 30 official NBA teams, their courts, and their mascots as unlockable playable characters. The game offers multiple modes, including quick matches, a full season, and a party mode, and supports up to four players in local co-op.
September 26 – Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2
A full remake of the beloved 3D platformer, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac sees Pac-Man venturing across Pac-Land to reclaim the stolen Golden Fruit from the ghost king, Spooky. The game has been modernized with enhanced graphics, expanded levels, quality-of-life improvements, and full voice acting. This “Re-Pac” version also adds new actions for Pac-Man, updated boss battles, and a new two-player co-op mode.
September 30 – Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2
This is a comprehensive release of the legendary tactical RPG, featuring two distinct versions of the game. The “Enhanced” version provides a modern experience with improved graphics, fully voiced dialogue, refined gameplay, and a more accessible “Squire” difficulty setting. The “Classic” version unites the graphics and gameplay of the original 1997 PlayStation release with the renowned “War of the Lions” translation, offering a more purist experience.
September 30 – Lego Party
PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch
Lego Party is a four-player party game where players compete in 60 different minigames set across themes from iconic LEGO lines like Pirates, Space, and NINJAGO. The game features extensive minifigure customization with over a billion possible combinations. It supports both local couch multiplayer and full cross-platform online multiplayer, allowing friends to play together regardless of their chosen system.
