Delphiniums in Tales of the Shire
There are two main things you can do with the Delphiniums in Tales of the Shire, here are your options:
- Sell the Delphiniums (Flower) to any trader for 42 Coin. This is the best way to get value from the flower itself, as it cannot be stored in your pantry.
- Trade it to Daisy for a decoration. If you have progressed far enough, you can trade grown flowers for decoration flowers with Daisy.
- Discard the Delphiniums to immediately reclaim precious backpack space by Trashing it. This is the fastest way to clear your inventory if you’re not near a trader.
We wanted to quickly present you with the answer – the choice is yours on what to do with the Delphiniums in Tales of the Shire and we discuss each option and the motivation behind them further in this guide.

What is the Delphinium Flower, and Why is it Special?
The Delphinium Flower is one of the first items you’ll acquire that cannot be stored in your Pantry, thus taking up valuable space in your backpack. While the flower itself is not very special and can only be sold or Trashed, the Delphinium Seed is far more important. No matter which planter you use, planting a Delphinium Seed next to your other crops will give all basic vegetables a “happy” status. This makes them much more likely to yield a 2-star vegetable, establishing Delphiniums as the first “perfect” Companion Plant you’ll find in the game. More information about Companion Planting can be found in our “How to Grow 2-star Vegetables in Tales of the Shire” guide.

How to Make the Most of the Delphinium Flower
Because Delphiniums cannot be stored and their true value lies in the seed, the strategy is very straightforward. The best thing you can do with the harvested flower is to sell it to any vendor for 42 Coin. The seed should be replanted in your garden next to your other vegetables to benefit from its Companion Planting bonus, while the flower itself should always be sold to free up inventory space and earn you some easy money.

Alternatively you can trade grown Delphiniums for potted Delphiniums – a nice decoration for your Hobbit Hole! Other flowers can be exchanged as well.
