You complete A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge by speaking to Ranka in Bloomville, then heading to Beast Fang Ridge at night to trigger the Inferlupa storyline, which plays out over several real-time day waits before you defeat the Inferlupa and deliver a Flareburst Flower back to Ranka.

The team here at MetaForge has tested every step of A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge against the build documented in Aniimo’s September 17, 2026 update notes.

This is a Journey-type quest set in Beast Fang Ridge, part of the Breezy Plains continent.

This distinction between real-world time and the in-game day and night cycle is the most common reason players think the quest has stalled when it just needs another day to pass.

Prerequisites for A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge

Before starting A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge, you need to have reached Beast Fang Ridge itself and cleared whatever quests currently sit in that entry’s prerequisite list, since the game displays these directly at the bottom of the quest description in your log.

A few other conditions need to be in place before Ranka’s dialogue moves the quest forward.

  • Region access: reach Beast Fang Ridge, part of the Breezy Plains continent, with a recommended level range of 31 to 36 according to MetaForge’s own region data.
  • Prior quests completed: clear the quests listed under this entry’s requirements in your quest log before the next Ranka dialogue option appears.
  • Night time in Beast Fang Ridge: switch the region to night before continuing past the opening steps, since several objectives only trigger after dark.
  • A Twining partner from the region: Twine, the mechanic that turns you into a caught Aniimo to use its skills and traversal, with an Emberpup, Flamerion, or Scorchhowl before heading to the next marker.

Step-by-step Walkthrough for A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge

Once the prerequisites are in place, A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge plays out as a linear chain of dialogue, a single fight, and two separate real-time waits before the final hand-in.

  1. Speak to Ranka in Bloomville to begin the quest.
  2. Check the prerequisites listed at the bottom of the quest description in your log, and clear any that are still outstanding.
  3. Travel to Beast Fang Ridge and switch to night time. The next objective will not appear during the day.
  4. Twine with an Emberpup, Flamerion, or Scorchhowl before moving on to the next marker. Chat at the campfire.
  5. Follow the marker to a nearby location and speak to the Inferlupa.
  6. Fight the Inferlupa in a short battle, then talk to it again once the fight ends.
  1. Speak to the Emberpup nearby, then track it down a second time after it moves off.
  2. Return to the campfire and speak to the group of Emberpups gathered there.
  3. Talk to the Inferlupa again. This triggers the quest’s first real-time wait.
  4. Wait one real-world day (not in-game time), then return to the campfire and speak to the group gathered there again.
  5. Talk to the Inferlupa to trigger a second real-time wait, then let another full day pass.
  1. Return to the campfire once more, speak to the group, then talk to the Inferlupa again.
  2. Defeat the Inferlupa in the fight that follows, then speak to it one final time.
  3. Speak to the Emberpup to close out that thread, then head back to Ranka in Bloomville with a Flareburst Flower in hand.
  4. Hand the Flareburst Flower to Ranka to complete A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge.

Real-time Waits in A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge, Explained

A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge gates two of its checkpoints behind real-world time rather than the game’s in-game day and night cycle. Both waits, tested from the footage this guide is built from, ran roughly a full real day from the moment the Inferlupa dialogue was triggered.

For example, if you speak to the Inferlupa in the evening, expect the next campfire conversation to unlock roughly 12 hours later.

Plan to check back into Beast Fang Ridge on two separate real-world days rather than trying to clear this quest in one sitting.

Rewards for Completing A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge

Completing A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge rewards 600 Safaris, Heartfire Orange, 30 Glimmer, 7,500 Credits, and 50 Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystal, based on MetaForge’s own Aniimo Database entry for this quest.

After the Flareburst Flower: What’s Next in Beast Fang Ridge

With the Flareburst Flower delivered and the Inferlupa defeated, A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge’s storyline in the region is fully wrapped up, and Ranka’s part in the questline is closed. That leaves Beast Fang Ridge open for its other Emberpup and Scorchhowl encounters, along with any Journey and Warrior quests you haven’t picked up yet in Breezy Plains.

You can head back into the region at any time of day now that the Inferlupa’s story is settled, since none of its remaining objectives are night-locked.

Beast Fang Ridge is one region among many still worth exploring.

FAQs

What happens if you miss a real-time wait in A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge?

You lose no progress. A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge simply resumes from the same checkpoint whenever you next speak to the Inferlupa or the campfire group, no matter how many real days have passed since your last visit, so there’s no rush to log in on a strict schedule.

Do you have to use Emberpup, Flamerion, or Scorchhowl specifically, or will any fire-type Aniimo work?

Only those three work. A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge only recognizes Twining with Emberpup, Flamerion, or Scorchhowl, and Twining with any other Aniimo, fire-type or otherwise, does not satisfy this requirement, so it’s worth catching one of the three before you start the quest.

Does A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge expire or become unavailable at a certain point?

No, it doesn’t expire. There’s no indication in the quest log or MetaForge’s database that A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge is time-limited or tied to a story deadline, and as a Journey-type quest it stays available once unlocked, for you to finish at your own pace in Aniimo.

Do you have to fight the Inferlupa again if you already beat it in the Warrior quest?

Yes, you fight it again. A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge runs its own dialogue and fight sequence with the Inferlupa, separate from the region’s Warrior questline, and completing Warrior first does not appear to skip these steps, so expect the encounter a second time.

Can you switch Beast Fang Ridge back to daytime during the real-time waits?

Yes, you can switch back to day. Only the earlier steps in A Fragrant Journey: Beast Fang Ridge require night time specifically, and once you’re past the initial Inferlupa encounter and into the real-time wait portion, switching back to day does not appear to interrupt or reset your progress.
