Controlled Access Zone – New Puzzle Room in ARC Raiders
How to Open the Controlled Access Zone in ARC Raiders
To get into the new puzzle room located in the Controlled Access Zone on the Dam Battlegrounds map, you will need a group of four players to press buttons simultaneously and then deposit a random selection of gathered items. It’s a fairly straightforward process once you know where to look, and it adds some decent value to the map.

Finding the Entrance
There are multiple entrances to the new area if you want to wander around looking for them. However, the easiest one by far is entering from the Pipeline Tower and following the corridors underground. It saves you a lot of time and keeps you out of the open where you might encounter ARC.

Some of these entrances take longer to get to than others. The easiest way will be the direction you come from. If you aren’t able to find an entrance, head to the Pipeline Tower and go down there to the area. It has the most direct route. Approaching from The Breach is also a very direct route into it.

The Button Puzzle
Once you are down in the facility, the main puzzle involves finding a battery, or Fuel Cell. This usually spawns somewhere on the lower ground level of the area. Once you find it, plug it into the main slot to unlock the upper control room doors.

Now you have to coordinate. You need four players to stand at four different buttons and press them at the exact same time. The buttons you need to press are not always in the same spot, which means you have to do a bit of running around. There are two exceptions to this, though. The button next to the door you are trying to open, and the one in the room that is opened with the Fuel Cell. They are always in the exact same place.

Unlocking the Second Door
After you manage to get all four buttons pressed at once, you aren’t quite done. To open the second door and actually get to the good stuff, you need to input items.
The terminal required one Leaper Pulse Unit and 3 ARC Powercells when we did it the first time. This meant the squad had to leave the room, go hunt down a Leaper, and bring the parts back. The catch here is that these items are different every time you try opening it. We are not sure how many variations there are just yet, but we will update this guide as we learn more. I honestly don’t mind this mechanic, as it forces you to engage with the map instead of just rushing a loot room and leaving.

The combinations found so far to unlock the second door are as follows:
- 1 x Leaper Pulse Unit + 12 x Metal Parts
- 1 x Motor + 3 x Wires
- 1 x Industrial Battery + 12 x Mechanical Components
- 1 x Industrial Battery + 3 x Wires
The Loot
Once you deposit the required items, the door opens. Inside, you’ll find weapon crates, supply containers, and generally some decent loot. There is also another locked key room located inside the Control Access Zone. I haven’t found the key for that one yet, but the regular loot makes the puzzle worth the effort.
