Damage Bombardiers: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
Trials in ARC Raiders brings together the community to complete various challenges week by week to be placed on a competitive leaderboard. Raiders are tasked with participating in 5 different Trials (which rotate into a new set of Trials every week too). The goal is simple – gain as much score as possible in each Trial objective in an attempt to promote in Trial Rank. Of course, plenty of Raiders only want to cash in their quick 4000 score for the 3-Star rewards each week too. In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and Damage Bombardiers to maximize your score and etch your place in the Speranza Hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level. Whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 4000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for this Trial comes from dealing damage to a Bombardier. The Spotters do not count. Each Bombardier that you destroy and deal 100% of the damage to awards you 5874~ score on a 2x event modifier.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires a good location to deal damage to and destroy Bombardiers. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a good weapon that has good range and utilities for killing small ARC and a big hitter such as the Hullcracker. Preferably, bring good explosives too. We recommend bringing:
Anvil IV is okay – bring
Heavy Ammo if you use this. Can help to deal with smaller ARC or Spotters & also destroy leg joints
Hullcracker IV – bring
Launcher Ammo- Any Augment
Light Shield or
Medium Shield- 5-10
Shield Rechargers - 10
Bandages and/or
Herbal Bandages
Snap Hook and plenty of
Ziplines to move between spawns throughout the raid- Plenty of
Wolfpacks for quick and easy Bombardier kills
Trailblazer Grenades are a good cheap alternative, or just an additional option to bring too
Can I use a Free Loadout to do the Damage Bombardiers weekly Trials?
While you technically could, we personally do not recommend this option due to lack of ammo and explosives options.
Should I use Aggression-based Matchmaking for friendly lobbies?
Yes, we also highly recommend utilizing this method for friendly lobbies as it yields consistently safe results.
Map
For this weekly trial, we recommend attempting it at Spaceport, preferably with the Electromagnetic Storm 2x Modifier enabled for maximum score. However, you can technically attempt this Trial during Night Raid events. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
The BEST Route for Maximizing Score
While there is no set route to “follow” in this Trial, we do have some recommendations on where to position and tackle this challenge.
We recommend as a solo setting up your main base at the ground floor base of the Launch Tower.
From here, you can set-up ziplines towards the following locations:
- Trenches
- Control Tower
- Arrival Building
- Departure Building
- Rocket Assembly
Once you spot one of the few-potentially spawning Bombardiers, you can move towards their location with the zip-lines you’ve set-up from the center. Each Bombardier you kill has around a 5-7 minute respawn timer. It is important to note that the Departure building and Rocket Assembly Bombardiers do not spawn till around the 12~ minutes remaining mark of the raid.
The quickest way to take out a Bombardier is to simply throw two Wolfpacks at the Bombardier. The first Wolfpack likely will not be enough to destroy and fully damage a Bombardier as some missiles split off to destroy the Spotters. However, one Wolfpack and some Hullcracker shots or even a Trailblazer Grenade would do the trick.
Alternatively, around 3-4~ Trailblazers well-placed can destroy a Bombardier too. It is very important to start fully destroying the Bombardiers as early as you can to get them on respawn timers. This ensures as a result that you’ll get as many potential Bombardiers to damage as possible.
At the top end of score, you can expect to reach upwards of 30,000+ score with ease using the above method, maybe even 40,000 score.
Duo & Trio
If you’re in a party with friends, you can simply split up between key locations for spawns to ensure the group is immediately taking out the Bombardiers and putting them on respawn. This is especially important when it comes to the later spawning Bombardiers at Departure and Rocket Assembly. As a result, you’ll not have to rotate a long period of time to get to them and put them on respawn immediately.
- Player 1: Controls Arrival Building + Trench spawns primarily. At 12~ minutes remaining, also rotates with Zipline to the Departure building Bombardier
- Player 2: Begins with player 3 at the Container Storage/Control Tower area, when the timer is about to hit 12-13~ minutes remaining, have player 2 rotate to Rocket Assembly to collect the Bombardier kill as it spawns
- Player 3: Controls Container Storage/Control Tower. If your party prefers it, you can have this player be the one to rotate to Departure, however we personally recommend player 1 to do this.
With this set-up you can easily expect a minimum of 50,000~ score. However, you can achieve 60,000 to nearly 70,000 with pinpoint precise timing and a bit of positional luck. Although, it is somewhat very unlikely to get the 70,000 mark.
Fast 3-Star Rewards and Alternative Options
To gain 4000 score for the 3-Star Rewards, simply head to the closest Bombardier you can see based on your spawn, find a safe position and take it out! This is done quickest and safest by throwing two Wolfpacks or a stack of Trailblazer Grenades on the Bombardier. There really is nothing more straightforward than this.
