Damage Queens or Matriarchs: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
Trials in ARC Raiders brings together the community to complete various challenges week by week to be placed on a competitive leaderboard. Raiders are tasked with participating in 5 different Trials (which rotate into a new set of Trials every week too), the goal is simple – gain as much score as possible in each Trial objective in an attempt to promote in Trial Rank. Of course, plenty of Raiders only want to cash in their quick 4000 score for the 3-Star rewards each week too. In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and Damage Queens or Matriarchs to maximize your score (or get your fill and get out) and etch your place in the Speranza Hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 4000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for “Damage Queens or Matriarchs” is simply a case of how much damage can you throw at either of these Elite ARC and how quickly can you do it. As a result, in a 2x event scenario – you can easily rack up the score.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires damaging Queens or Matriarchs as much as possible within the raids time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a powerful weapon to hit the Queen or Matriarch with, and a good weapon for killing smaller ARC. Last but not least – a TON of ammo. We recommend bringing:
- Anvil IV (Can be Anvil I but IV is preferred for the Fire Rate)
- Hullcracker or Jupiter
- Tactical MK.2
- Light Shield
- 10 Shield Rechargers
- 10-15 Bandages
- 120+ Heavy Ammo
- Tons of Launcher Ammo or Energy Clips (based on the weapon you bring) – consider 400+ Launcher Ammo if you’re solo or a full inventory of Energy Clips.
- 10 Adrenaline Shots
- 2-5 Smoke Grenades
- Any optional additional items such as Deadline Mines, Wolfpack Grenades, Defibrillators if you’re solo in a friendly lobby etc.
Most of the above can be tweaked to your preference, however, this set-up ensures you can move around the map, effectively deal with all ARC threats and cover yourself should an opponent get the jump on you.
Map
The best map to push for the maximum score possible as a solo is Dam Battlegrounds with the Harvester Minor Event enabled. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
We recommend pushing the Queen as opposed to the Matriarch as a solo player. This is simply due to the Matriarch being a bigger threat with looming hostile players the longer it takes to fight and take down (the fight is longer than the Queen). The Harvester tends to be a much more chill experience with less people engaging the Queen. As a result, this allows you to farm as much damage as possible before any other player takes damage from your total by hitting the Queen.
The BEST Method for Maximizing Score
Preferably you’ll spawn close to the Harvester location, however, it’s not too important. The main thing that’s important, however, is that you get to the Queen as fast as possible to deal the most damage for yourself. Once you arrive at the Harvester, you’ll have a few options in where to set yourself up.
Harvester
The first option is to use the Harvester for cover. However, this option isn’t the safest due to other players wanting to complete the Harvester puzzle for themselves.
Setting up around the Pump House Hatch
The Pump House Hatch, located just Northeast of the Queen and Harvester can be a nice place to set up both solo and or in a party. With some Barricade Kits, you can create several angles for cover (both from the Queen and players). Another great thing about playing by the Hatch is that you can simply extract as soon as you’re done with the Queen with a Raider Hatch Key!
Power Generator Complex Window
Another great location especially for solos is up at the Power Generator Complex Window. In an elevated position, it sits above the Queen and the Harvester – facing right at them both too. This makes for a great spot that you can protect yourself in with a ton of cover. While not a requirement, bringing in traps, Barricade Kits etc can help you create a full fortress of safety. This method is very long range, as a result, we recommend fully committing to a Jupiter or Hullcracker strategy.
Damaging the Queen
To be completely transparent, there isn’t a specific way to deal the damage itself. Instead, simply just utilize every damage option available to you to hit the center of the Queen. This includes setting up Deadlines under her center (you can achieve this with Photoelectric Cloaks, Ziplines to get to and from etc). You may have spare Wolfpack Grenades to throw right at her for some quick points of damage too. Continue to hit the Queen from start to finish until she’s destroyed or you’ve had your fill of score. You can easily expect 15-20k score from this as a solo.
Trios Strategy
In Trios, providing you can bring the firepower, it’s better to rush down the Matriarch in this setting. The Matriarch is a far bulkier ARC than the Queen. As a result, if you can rush to the Matriarch and blast it as much as possible in a Trio, it’ll net your squad the most score for this week. There isn’t a major strategy to maximize this option. As a result, you just want to focus on:
- Getting to the Matriarch first
- Bringing multiple hard-hitting utility and weapons, such as Deadlines and Wolfpack Grenades
- Blasting the Matriarch with 3x Hullcrackers or Jupiter
Easy way to 3-star “Damage Queens or Matriarchs” for 4000+ Score
Similarly to the above strategy, simply load into a Harvester Event Map (can be any map for this), bring in as many Wolfpacks as possible along with a Hullcracker or Jupiter. Next, damage dump everything you brought with you until you reach 4000 score. As soon as you hit 4000 score – head to the nearest extract and you’re done! If you select Dam Battlegrounds, you can bring a Raider Hatch Key with you and extract instantly from the Pump House Hatch.
