Throw snowballs at Rocketeers: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
Trials in ARC Raiders brings together the community to complete various challenges week by week to be placed on a competitive leaderboard. Raiders are tasked with participating in 5 different Trials (which rotate into a new set of Trials every week too). The goal is simple – gain as much score as possible in each Trial objective in an attempt to promote in Trial Rank. Of course, plenty of Raiders only want to cash in their quick 4000 score for the 3-Star rewards each week too. In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and throw snowballs at Rocketeers to maximize your score (or get your fill and get out) and etch your place in the Speranza Hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 4000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for “throw snowballs at Rocketeers” is easy. In this case, every snowball that hits a Rocketeer nets you 250 score on a 2x modifier. While you can do this Trial technically on any modifier, we still recommend the Cold Snap event. This is due to the Cold Snap being the place you can collect snowballs.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires throwing as many snowballs at Rocketeers as possible (or to reach your 3-star reward) within the raids time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need medical supplies, snowballs and a weapon to break the Rocketeers Thrusters if needed. We recommend bringing:
- Anvil IV (Can be Anvil I but IV is preferred for the Fire Rate)
- Looting MK.2
- Light Shield
- 5 Shield Rechargers
- 5-10 Bandages or 5 Herbal Bandages
- 80+ Heavy Ammo
- As many stacks of 5x Snowballs you can bring
- 1 Raider Hatch Key (not a must but preferred)

If you do not have access to Showstoppers, you can also farm and bring Hornet Drivers as they have a similar effect.
Most of the above can be tweaked to your preference. However, this set-up ensures you can move around the map, effectively deal with all ARC threats and carry your snowballs.
Map
Any map with the Cold Snap modifier is preferred and can net you the same score. However, you can technically do this Trial on any 2x modifier. We recommend Blue Gate with the Cold Snap modifier for this Trial. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
The BEST Route for Maximizing Score
This method works the same whether you’re solo or in a group. This is because yourself as a solo or your entire group will come into the raid with a full inventory of snowballs and ways to stun or disable the Rocketeers.
Gathering Snowballs
Before we start the Trial, we highly recommend going into a raid beforehand to collect snowballs. Snow piles all over a Cold Snap map can be interacted with for snowballs. It takes quite some time to gather a full inventory of snowballs. As a result, it’s important to farm up the snowballs first, so you have a full raid to use them in later.
If you want to push for the highest score possible, you’ll have to collect more snowballs after throwing your whole inventory you bring in originally. With a Looting MK.2, you’ll have around 100~ snowballs – netting you a starting point of 25,000~ score.
Blue Gate
We recommend Blue Gate on Cold Snap so you can both replenish your snowball stock and the Rocketeers available. The best spot to pull the Rocketeers to is the Cliffside Airshaft & the Village nearby.
In these locations, you can collect more snowballs, easily pull Rocketeers with some cover and have a Hatch to escape through safely. You can extract through normal means too, however, the Cliffside Airshaft can become volatile.
Dealing with & disabling the Rocketeer
Once you’re in position, you’ll want to begin working on disabling the Rocketeer you pulled. This can be doing in a couple of ways:
- Exclusively shooting the Rocketeer thrusters that are on the same side as each other until they break off, de-stabilizing the Rocketeer, causing it to land – making it an easier target
- Using Showstoppers or Hornet Drivers on one side of the Rocketeer to disable two of its thrusters, causing it to flip upside down onto the ground, unable to reset itself.
Both options are viable and great to bring the Rocketeer down. It’s important to take one of these paths, otherwise you’ll be trying to throw snowballs at a moving Rocketeer in the sky.
Tucking yourself into some cover prevents you from being affected by the Cold Snap too. Here, you can safely throw snowballs until you’re entirely out. If you’re solo & see other players, just explain you’re friendly and you’re going to throw snowballs at Rocketeers. Hopefully, they’ll not kill the Rocketeer until you’re done.
If you’re out of Snowballs, you can go collect some more nearby or in the Village. The Village in particular has a ton of cover from both players and the Rocketeer. It also positions you close to a Hatch to extract from. If you’re happy with the first 25,000~ score – you can extract right away. If not, we recommend heading to village, rebuilding your snowball inventory and finding a second Rocketeer (if the first blew up). As a solo you can easily push for 30,000-40,000+ score. However, a trio can easily push for 100,000+. Playing in a trio does not change the method for this Trial.
Quick 4000 score for 3-star rewards
If you’re looking for a quick 4000 score, this is still the most reliable way. However, you only need to farm around 16-20~ snowballs. Each snowball is 250 score if it hits the Rocketeer, as a result, you’ll only require 16 snowballs to land.
