What Changed

ArcheAge Chronicles has wrapped up another round of temporary maintenance, and this one is aimed squarely at the pain points of the first week of Early Access. According to the official patch notes, posted on Steam on November 7 after roughly two hours of downtime starting at 11:00 PM PT on November 6, the headline change is a big one for hoarders: the Storage weight limit jumps from 200 to 1,000.

The patch also adds new chat options, reworks how you respawn after death, and fixes a long list of quests that could stall, channels you couldn't leave properly and a few combat exploits. If you've been stuck on a quest since launch, it's worth logging back in.

To get the patch, update the game through your Steam Library. The developers note that if the update button doesn't show up, restarting Steam should fix it.

  • The sale price of the Watcher's Bowstring has been adjusted (the notes don't list the new value).

  • Your overweight status now updates correctly after storing or retrieving items.

  • Equipped Lunastone effects now display correctly in Marketplace listings.

  • Chat options are no longer displayed only in Korean.

  • The Report button no longer stays on screen after you close the chat window.

  • Some UI elements have been improved for visibility, and shortcut key icons in system messages are now bigger.

Death and respawning

  • Revive Nearby (F) brings you back at the nearest Nui Statue or Nui Flame.

  • Go Outside (G) respawns you outside if you die inside a Dimension.

Quests and achievements

  • If you left Cliffs of Madness after defeating Poldat without finishing the quest, you can now go back in by talking to Kevin at the entrance.

  • Clearer objective text for Rufus's "Hands to Spare" quest. The Logging Axe you need is near Rufus.

  • The Sunken Glory rubbing item now spawns in the right place.

  • The Bloodstained Note can now be interacted with where it previously couldn't.

  • Portal-shaped objects no longer have collision.

  • Fewer failed interactions with gathering nodes, objects and some NPCs.

Combat and traits

  • Recommended Traits are now disabled in Collapsed Southern Ruins. Trait Points that Recommended Traits forced into place will be reset.

  • The shield from the Warhammer trait Unstoppable Force II no longer stacks.

  • You can no longer use the terrain to beat Bauchu easily.

Locations

  • Players no longer get stuck at certain spots in the Seaglass Beach castle.

  • Fixed an environment issue near the Sanguine Den entrance in Astron Plains.

  • Corrected Nui's Tear placement in Fell Keep.

  • The time of day no longer changes when the camera enters some buildings.

Guilds, sound and characters

  • Players expelled from a guild can no longer rejoin it straight away.

  • Other players' Trade Wagon sounds no longer carry from very far away.

  • Eyebrows, beards and other facial features now react to expressions in Selfie Mode after death or knockdown, and in some cutscenes.

What's Next

The November 7 notes don't preview the next patch, but the developers' November 4 response-plan notice lists the work still in progress:

  • Freely rebindable movement keys.

  • Clearer rules for the channel-transfer button.

  • Crash fixes, plus ongoing work on stuttering and frame rate.

  • Additional language support, which is under consideration.

The option to hide the chat window from that list has now shipped in this patch. The developers also confirmed that Linux and Steam Deck are not officially supported.
