Patch 2.04.08 Targets Frame Drops, Sailing and Housing Bugs, and Finally Hands Out Leviakan's Scale
What changed

Patch 2.04.08 announcement banner (official)
The post-Charting the Unknown hotfixes keep coming. Patch 2.04.08 went live on November 6, 2026, and it's available now on Steam for PC and Mac. It's the biggest of the recent hotfixes. It reduces framerate drops in certain areas, and Pearl Abyss says more performance work is on the way.
The rest is a long list of fixes. The ship's wheel turns again while you steer, and players can dive again in certain underwater caves where they were getting stuck. The patch fixes houses vanishing in Free Construction mode and adds a confirmation prompt before you delete a room. Two crashes are fixed: one during certain cutscenes on PS5, and one on Mac after defeating Leviakan that blocked progression. Defeating Leviakan now also rewards you with its scale.
It follows the much smaller Patch 2.04.07 on November 5, which fixed Nibrak Cloth Armor disappearing.
