What Changed and Why It Matters

The post-Charting the Unknown cleanup continues. Pearl Abyss has shipped three all-platform hotfixes in quick succession. If a quest has been stuck, your farm animals vanished, or the game crashed against Ravok of the Savage Fangs, one of these patches is likely your fix. The biggest, 2.04.06, has 24 fixes, many for ships, diving and pioneering.

For maps and guides, head to our Crimson Desert hub.

Patch 2.04.04 (November 1)

  • Key-item equipment on a Greymane comrade no longer unequips and duplicates in your inventory after loading a save or restarting.

  • Livestock registered at the farm no longer disappears.

  • Some text in the Gift UI no longer shows in Korean.

Patch 2.04.05 (November 1)

This one is all about progression blockers:

  • Fixed a crash during the battle against Ravok of the Savage Fangs.

  • Damiane's quest "End and Beginning" can now progress if "Journey's End" was completed within a certain timeframe.

  • Quests to propose to certain witches can now progress.

  • Kliff's quest "Beyond the Margins" no longer requires owning a fishing rod to progress.

Patch 2.04.06 (November 4)

Performance and platform

  • AMD: fixed a crash in Pailune with the Cinematic option enabled on driver 26.10.1.

  • Fixed frame rate drops in certain areas. Pearl Abyss revised this note on November 4 to say frame drops in certain situations and content will continue to be improved.

Ships, sea and pioneering

  • Ship crew members no longer talk excessively.

  • Fixed earlier pioneering missions failing to complete after sending out two or more, and pioneering not completing when the ship was near the anchorage.

  • Abyss Cressets at ocean Secret Places and Ruins now work properly.

  • Kite Pirates can no longer board the Assault Ship of the East.

  • Fixed missing diving sound effects and an occasional crash when diving as Damiane with Latin American Spanish selected.

  • Characters no longer end up in odd positions when disembarking from a ship or rowboat.

  • In naval combat, the reload sound no longer plays repeatedly when all cannons are charged.

Management and rewards

  • The Level 5 management popularity reward now applies to all characters.

  • The notes also list: "Rewards are not granted when defeating the Phanton Ship and the Drunken Catfish."

World and map

  • Smoothed out terrain near the Knight of Void entrance.

  • The Camel Constellation is no longer placed in an unreachable spot.

  • Outlaw icons now appear on the World Map and Minimap.

Items, combat and UI

  • The Lumen Sword can no longer be destroyed in certain situations, and a destroyed Lumen Sword can now be restored.

  • The Constellation Helm can now be used while swimming.

  • Oongka's "Ascended Devastation" now applies to all intended weapons.

  • Skill descriptions and videos now show right after learning a skill.

  • Gifting multiple items to an NPC no longer sends you back to the title screen.
