Complete Veilwater Basin Spire Guide in Enshrouded

The Veilwater Basin Spire is a major challenge introduced in the Wake of the Water Update. After completing the Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas quest, you’ll receive Master the Ancient Veilwater Basin Spire, which tasks you with reaching the spire, climbing it, and igniting the flame at the top. To get there, travel into Veilwater Basin, make your way through the nearby towns and Drak-patrolled areas, and approach the west side of the spire where the wooden scaffolding leads you inside.

Step 1 – Reach Veilwater Basin Outlook

You can reach Veilwater Basin in two ways depending on your progress:

If you placed an altar during the Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas quest, simply fast travel directly to your altar at the entrance of Veilwater Basin.

If not, fast travel to Albaneve Summits Ancient Spire, glide west toward the Passage to the Veilwater Basin, and follow the passage through until you emerge onto the Veilwater Basin Outlook.

From the overlook, the spire is located north-west.

Step 2 – Navigate Through the Basin Toward the Spire

From the outlook, begin heading west and north-west.
There is no direct route — you must move through several smaller towns, along winding roads, and past Drak temples as you follow the coastline deeper into the region.

Eventually, you’ll reach the northern cliffs, giving you a view overlooking the spire.

Step 3 – Approach the Spire from the West Side

From the cliffside, glide or swim down toward the islands surrounding the spire.
You must reach the west side, as this is the only side with the wooden scaffolding that allows you to climb to the entrance.

Once you land on the wooden platforms, you’re ready to begin the interior climb.

Step 4 – Enter the Spire and Begin Your Ascent

From the entrance, both the left and right paths lead into the same starting chamber. Avoid the teleporter here, as it simply drops you back into the water below.

Move forward, weaving through the lightning orbs and crossing the spike traps. You can fight the enemies if you want extra loot, but it isn’t required.

Continue by jumping over the vases, passing through the doorway and climbing up the metal grid to reach the next section.

Step 5 – Dodge the Fireballs

Continue through the fireball hallway, dodging the incoming shots by jumping or weaving between them. On your right you’ll notice a locked door, but ignore it for now and move past the fireballs. Before entering the enemy room ahead, stop in the small corridor and look upward to spot a switch on the ceiling.

Shoot it with an arrow, then go back through the fireball hallway and enter the now-unlocked door to claim the silver chest.

After looting, return past the fireballs again and continue into the next room, where enemies and a switch puzzle await.

Step 6 – Clear the Enemy Room and Solve the Switch Puzzle

Defeat all the enemies inside so you can safely inspect the puzzle. There are six switches in total, each with a pillar above it: three golden pillars and three standard stone pillars.

To unlock the door, set each gold-pillar switch so that it glows gold, and set each normal-pillar switch so that it remains unlit. When all switches correctly match their pillar type, the door will open, allowing you to continue toward the next teleporter.

Step 7 – Activate All Buttons on the Upper Floor

This floor contains three main buttons that must be pressed, as well as a hidden button that unlocks a silver chest.

Walk forward, cross the spikes and stay to the right until you reach a dead end. Look through the small floor gap and shoot the hidden button below to unlock the silver chest room.

Turn around and look across the spike traps to spot the first main button and press it.

Return to the spike hallway, turn right and enter the Lightning Ballroom, then take the next right into the silver chest room.

Leave this room, turn left and continue straight to press the second button.

Head back to the spike hall one more time, go right and then right again to reach the final button. Once all buttons have been activated, return to the starting point of the floor.

Step 8 – Climb the Wall Grate and Navigate the Axe Platforms

You’ll see a metal wall grate nearby; climb it to reach the upper levels. Follow the walkway around until you spot a grapple point. Jump and grapple across to the opposite side.

The next area contains swinging axes and small platforms. Jump from platform to platform, timing your movements carefully to avoid the axes. Once you reach the far side, enter the next room and take the teleporter.

Step 9 – Navigate Lightning Orbs and Hit the Upper Switch

Continue forward, then go left past the stairs (do not go up them yet).
Dodge the lightning orbs and enter the room with the raised platform.

First, open the double doors in front of you.
Then stand on the platform and shoot through the narrow gap above the doors to hit the switch.
This unlocks the next area.

Go back to the stairs and follow the walkway until you reach locked doors with a teleporter inside.
Before entering, you must activate the underwater switch below.

Step 10 – Swim Down to Activate the Underwater Switch

Look for the large water-filled hole in the floor, which leads to the switch. Make sure you have full stamina before diving.

When you first descend, you’ll notice a locked door underwater, but ignore it for now and continue deeper into the tunnel.

At the end, you’ll find the switch with air bubbles beside it to restore oxygen, and remaining still will recover stamina. Press the switch to power up the spire.

Step 11 – Escape the Tunnels and Avoid the Spinning Traps

Swim back the same way you came, but this time spinning spike traps will activate. Maneuver carefully and time your movements to avoid them.

If you die during this section, you’ll respawn safely outside the spire, and your dropped bag will be waiting just outside the water tunnel, making recovery easy.

Step 12 – Ignite the Flame and Complete the Spire

Exit the underwater room and go back down the stairs you originally came from. Turn left to find a newly opened door on the opposite side of the lightning hallway, and press the button on the wall inside.

Although this button gives no clear feedback, it unlocks a hidden underwater passage. Return to the water hole and dive straight down, where you’ll now find an opened secret door.

Carefully avoid the spike traps inside and follow the tunnel to discover a golden chest. After looting the chest, resurface and proceed through the previously opened doors in the main chamber, then take the final teleporter.

This brings you to the top of the Veilwater Basin Spire, where you can interact with the Flame to complete the spire and finish the Master the Ancient Veilwater Basin Spire quest.
