Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas Quest in Enshrouded

The Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas quest becomes available after completing Illuminate the Night. This sends you into the new Veilwater Basin area introduced in the Wake of the Water Update. To reach it, you’ll need to glide from Albaneve Summit Spire into the passageway that leads into Veilwater Basin. Once inside, place an Altar so you can fast travel back later. From here, follow the path into Driftwood Wake and explore the town until you find the required clue to progress the quest.

Step 1 – Complete “Illuminate the Night”

This quest only appears after finishing Illuminate the Night, which unlocks the new chain involving Veilwater Basin. Interact with your Flame to receive Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas once it becomes available.

Step 2 – Travel to Albaneve Summit Spire

Fast travel to Albaneve Summit Spire. This is the starting point for reaching Veilwater Basin. From the spire, glide down toward the quest waypoint.

You’ll see buildings next to the shroud below. Entering from the right side and glide down from the broken bridge. This is the easier route, as it has fewer enemies and leads directly into the passage.

Step 3 – Enter the Passage to Veilwater Basin

Move through the internal passageway sprinting past all the enemies. Continue forward and it will open out into the new region. You’ll know you’ve arrived when the environment shifts dramatically — welcome to Veilwater Basin.

Step 4 – Place an Altar for Fast Travel

As soon as you enter Veilwater Basin, we highly recommend to place an Altar nearby. This saves a huge amount of time later on, as you won’t need to repeat the long journey from Albaneve Summit Spire each time you return. This also helps for future quests that you’ll get after this one.

Step 5 – Head to Driftwood Wake Town

From the overlook, head toward Dragondream Lake and then into Driftwood Wake. You can glide directly down or take a longer but safer running route. Enter the town through the main entrance and continue straight ahead until you find the Tavern “OL’ Salt ‘N Pepper” – which has the double doors.

Step 6 – Find the First Clue Inside the Building

Go through the double doors, turn right, then turn right again. This leads into the kitchen containing the clue. On the desk you’ll find the scroll required to progress the quest. Interact with it to complete this stage.

Step 7 – Travel to the Captain’s Rest

Your next objective is to investigate the Captain’s Rest, which is located just south of Driftwood Wake. From the dock outside the building, you can see it across the water. Glide over or swim across.

Step 8 – Retrieve the Captain’s Soul

Once you reach the Captain’s Rest, climb onto the jetty. Sitting on the chair is the Captain’s Soul. Interact with it to collect the item needed to finish the quest.

Step 9 – Return Home and Summon the Captain

Fast travel back to your base and summon the captain using your Flame. Speak to him and listen to his dialogue. After this, the Emerald Shores and Sanguine Seas quest is complete. The captain will then offer three new quests: Nice Day for Fishing, Take Hey Ah, and Only Dead Fish Swim With the Stream.
