Masked Stranger Boss Fight

The Masked Stranger is the main antagonist of Grounded 2. Throughout the Main Quests, the Masked Stranger contacts you and follows your every move. As a result, this suggests to us you’ll meet the main baddie multiple times throughout the game. However, the first meeting of the Masked Stranger occurs during the “Networking” Main Quest – located at the top of the BURG.L Statue. With that being said, lets take a look at the Masked Stranger Boss Fight (Part 1).

Masked Stranger Boss Fight Phase 1

The boss fight starts with the Masked Stranger leaping down to the floor of the room. It’s immediately clear that the boss has a Spicy Coaltana, and specializes in “Sizzling”. During the first phase, the Masked Stranger has a few basic slashing attacks, a lunge attack, and a jumping leap attack that deals AoE damage if you’re close.

Phase 2

Once the Masked Stranger reaches around 40%~ – she’ll pop a Healing Potion, restoring herself back to full health. This is also an open moment to apply any status effects or build-specific set-ups you require.

After one attack, the Masked Stranger charges an attack and a large sizzle-circle appears around them. This attack is a very large radius attack that deals considerable damage and applies sizzle. As a result, attempt to immediately move out the circle as soon as the animation begins.

Phase 3

Bringing the Masked Stranger to around 30-40% HP for the second time pushes the boss into Phase 3. The boss jumps back up to where you first met them and calls forth a huge Wolf Spider. The Wolf Spider, also known as “Bandit”, acts similarly to most Wolf Spiders. As a result, proceed with caution and slowly but surely take them down. It’s important to note that the Masked Stranger does not join Bandit to fight at the same time, so it’s still a 1v1 (unless you’re with friends, you’ll have the advantage!).

After defeating Bandit, the Masked Stranger calls off the fight – mentioning “Dr. Wendell Tully” – the Doctor from the original “Grounded”. Finally, the boss teleports out using their Spicy Coaltana and you’re left with the victory spoils, located in Ms. Sloane’s office.
