ROB RUN Beginner's Guide: Your First Hour in Looty Bay
Your first hour in ROB RUN takes you from a prison cell to your first stolen payout in Looty Bay. Follow the steps below and you will know the loop the rest of the game builds on: steal, sell, get out alive.
Your first run, step by step

Break out of prison. You start behind bars. Talk to the Tattoo Artist, then use an escape point to get out. (Prison map)
Meet Lenny. You arrive at Lenny's Motel, the game's hub. Talk to Lenny to pick up the next steps. (Lenny's Motel map)
Rent a car. No car of your own yet? Rent one at the motel, then get in.
Drive to Looty Bay. Leave the motel area. Crossing the edge of a location opens the global map, where you pick your destination.
Put on your mask. Find somewhere quiet and mask up. That switches you to Criminal mode.
Steal something valuable. Any building in town can hold loot. The Looty Bay map shows every robbable building, safe and cash register.
Sell it to the Fence. Take the item to the Fence and collect your cash.
Get back to the motel. Return to Lenny to finish the tutorial.
Pick your role
In Looty Bay you play as one of three roles, and the rules for dying differ for each.
Role | What you do | If you die |
|---|---|---|
Civilian | Explore the city safely | You keep your inventory |
Police | Stop Criminals and earn a share of confiscated goods | You keep your inventory |
Criminal | Rob, steal and fight other Criminals | You lose your whole inventory |
You only become a Criminal when you put on a mask. Leave the city and Criminal mode switches off.
Tips for staying alive as a Criminal
Getting out is the job. Your loot only counts once you leave Looty Bay alive.
Surrender if it goes wrong. If you give yourself up to the Police, you lose only what is in your bag. You keep the gear you are wearing.
Watch the staff. Shop workers will try to call the Police. Aiming at them stops that.
Mind the alarms. Breaking glass can trip an alarm, but picking a lock does not. Break security cameras before they spot you.
Hide when you need to. Bushes, cabinets and dumpsters hide you and your name tag.
The motel is a safe zone. No weapons are allowed at Lenny's Motel, so it is the place to regroup and find a crew.
Violence has a cost. Attacking Civilians puts a bounty on you and shows your position to everyone on the map.
