Rune Platebody is a tier 8 chest, unlocked by discovering Rune Bar and Draconic Vis Wax, crafted at the Armour Bench with 10 Rune Bar, 8 Black Dragon Leather, 3 Vis Cloth, 3 Harmonised Compound and 3 Draconic Vis Wax. Thick rune plates forged into armour for the strongest of warriors.
Lore
It is perhaps fitting that the first pieces of rune equipment were worn by the creator of runes themselves, Guthix. Of course, rune metal is not made of runes, and indeed has no actual connection to runes at all, but Guthix, for all his many qualities, was not the greatest of wordsmiths.
Luminite, somehow, limited the metal’s reaction to other metals, but only within the smelting phase. It allowed the construction of bars, which in turn allowed the construction of plates which could be fitted together to form armour.
It took several weeks, for Guthix’s blacksmithing skills had long fallen to atrophy, but the god was able to fashion himself a full suit of rune metal. Just in time for the Dweller to attack.
