Rasthin was never fond of just leaving things to chance. She always saw a need to create bigger, deadlier, weapons with which to destroy her foes. With the dragons she encouraged Lacrussa’s experiments, searching for ways to make them into a more potent force. With the vault guardians she pushed them further still.
The archon is a marvel of dragonkin science. Infused with enough magical force to level a small village, if left uncontained. The magic that runs through its circuits acts as a connection to all the other guardians, motivating and animating them by the archon’s will.
At the height of their power, these creatures could out-strategise the most cunning generals. Fortunately, time has dulled this wits and their reflexes, reducing them to a strength only deadly to a village, rather than a nation.
