Dragon Crossbow

Brakka presented the cache of weapons to the other dragonkin. For himself he chose the kiteshield: he didn't care much for combat, and he felt a strange kinship with its resilience.

Avisk chose a scimitar with a growl. He turned the metal in his hands and licked it. Brakka knew Avisk well enough that Avisk would be more interested in the material and its properties for his studies. Avisk chose the scimitar simply because it contained the greatest weight of the metal.

Rasthin was next and chose a crossbow and some bolts. She walked immediately to her workbench and began exposing the metal to the elements. She lit a bolt on fire and seemed satisfied that the fire failed to extinguish.

Lacrussa took a kiteshield. She tossed it to the corner, disinterested with these trinkets.

Brakka didn't know what to expect from Viika. He wondered whether they would turn down the gift, perhaps, or pick a kiteshield - something of a more pacifist bent.

Viika picked the dragon crossbow. "I know someone who will have need of this," they said.
