To solve the Second Riddle in Tales of the Shire, you need to find a large waterfall. Here are the key details to get you there:
- The Riddle Text: “In the heart of the forest, it calls. Where the river doesn’t run, it falls. Where the water doesn’t babble, it roars.”
- Where to Go: Head to the large forest in the southeastern part of the Bywater map. The waterfall is located near the “Tree Root Pool” fishing spot.
- The Solution: In front of the waterfall, you will see a white bridge. The solution is the cluster of shimmering blue sparkles on the ground just before the bridge.

How to Start the Second Riddle Quest
The second riddle quest, “The Water That Roars,” begins automatically after you solve the first riddle, “Eye of the Lake.” Once you interact with the tree stump on the island, Daisy Took will immediately present you with the next puzzle from Nora Burrows’ book, continuing the questline without any delay.
How to Solve the Second Riddle: “The Water That Roars”
This riddle is more straightforward than the first. The clues “where the river doesn’t run, it falls” and “its water doesn’t babble, it roars” are strong hints pointing directly to a waterfall. The phrase “in the heart of the forest” tells you to search the large wooded area on the eastern side of the map. To navigate, start from the island where you solved the first riddle and take the path east into the forest. At the first fork, go right. Continue past a ruined hobbit hole to another crossroads, and again, take the right-hand path through a circular log archway. This path leads directly to a clearing with the waterfall. The solution is the shimmering blue sparkles on the ground just before the white bridge.
