The Ultimate Preparation Guide for the Hexi Region in Where Winds Meet
The highly anticipated Hexi region is almost here, and if you want to hit the ground running, you need to start preparing now. From securing new weapons early to stockpiling massive amounts of gold, this guide covers everything you need to dominate the new content drop.
Here is the ultimate checklist to ensure your character is fully prepped for the Hexi region!
Why Pre-Patch Prep is the Ultimate Power Move
Entering a new region like Hexi isn’t just about exploring new scenery; it’s about surviving the sudden spike in difficulty and being ready for the new Level 90 ceiling. In Where Winds Meet, the transition between regions often gates your progress behind expensive upgrades and rare materials. By checking off these tasks today, you avoid the “launch day bottleneck” where everyone is fighting over the same resource spawns. Whether you’re eyeing the new Rope Dart for its PvP utility or the Flute for its massive GvG heals, having your materials and gold capped ensures you’re playing the new content while others are still grinding for basics.
1. Secure the New Rope Dart Early
We are getting a brand-new weapon—the 10 Directions Rope Dart (Unfathered One with Soul Sweep)—and it pairs phenomenally well with Twin Blades in PvP.

Instead of waiting, you can actually bug into the location right now to secure it the second the patch drops!
- Location: Head to the Nine Mortal Way base.
- How to glitch in: Use lightless flying to clip through the textures, follow the light, and drop down the hidden hole.
- The Loot: Once you land, head to the back-left to find a massive chest.

- Pro-tip: Park your character right at this chest and log out. When the patch drops, log back in and instantly loot your new rope dart!
2. Unlock the Ultimate GvG Healer Skill (The Flute)
If you play a healer or participate in Guild vs. Guild (GvG) combat, the new Flute Mystic Skill is an absolute must-have. It drops huge AoE damage, grants party-wide damage buffs, and reduces endurance costs when upgraded.
- How to get it: Find the monk in the Hexi region. He’ll give you a music mini-game task. After completing it, he’ll send you to two different locations to finish the quest.

- Important: Upgrading this skill requires a new regional flower. Since spawns reset with the daily server reset, you should hunt these flowers immediately upon launch so you don’t miss out on a day’s worth of farming.

3. Grab the Chicken Noodle Buff
Before you go out gathering those new flowers, pick up the Chicken Noodle buff. You can buy this from an NPC stall in Kaifeng. This food item gives you a massive 20% herb gathering crit rate, which will drastically speed up your material farm.

4. Stockpile Your Gold & Upgrade Materials
Upgrading martial arts to the new level 90 cap is going to drain your wallet. Enhancing a single item costs a whopping 22,500 gold per level, and there are five upgrades per item! Here is how to hoard wealth effectively:

- Uncut Jade: Run the Taiping Mausoleum Bath Trial to get uncut jade, which you can trade for pouches of 1,000 gold.

- Jadefish: Visit the season shop weekly to buy bags of gold with your Jadefish.
- Bounties & Vendettas: Running Wandering Path bounties is the fastest and most fun way to cap out your weekly gold limit.

- Materials: Buy up to 200 fur from vendors, alongside raw stone ore and jade, to prep for the new armor and weapon pendants.
- Stamina: Spend your daily replenishing stamina on Editor Bags (15 weekly) to craft items or convert to gold.
5. Manage Your Inner Ways & Breakthroughs
Prepare your inner base by stocking up on mystic skill breakthroughs:
- Buy inner base chests from the Taiping Mausoleum and the Battle Pass shop to ensure you get the new flute flowers easily.

- Swap Cooldowns: Inner Ways swaps currently have a 3-day cooldown. You get four free swaps before it starts costing 1,000 Jade per swap. Do your conversions now to avoid hefty fees later!

6. Be Careful With Weapon Refunds
If you want to refund a level 85 weapon to invest in a new Hexi region weapon, you can—but it comes at a cost. While most materials refund at 100%, gold and green items only refund at an 80% rate. Because upgrades are so expensive, losing 20% of your gold is a massive hit. Plan accordingly!

7. Min-Max Your Gear & Attunements
With another breakthrough dropping shortly after the Hexi release, it’s time to enter “hoarding mode” for your gear tuning stones:
- Falcon Stone (1 per week): Changes one tuning stat into your desired recommended stat. Stockpile these from the Battle Pass shop.

- Alteration Stone (2 per week): Allows you to swap between PvP and PvE attunements.

- The Golden Rule of Tuning: When rerolling a stat with a Falcon stone, always use the Rainbow Shell (not the golden shell) to guarantee the maximum possible stat roll.
