Twinblade and Rope Dart DPS Build Guide – Where Winds Meet [Updated for Patch 1.2]
This is a guide for a high DPS build in Where Winds Meet that utilizes the Twinblades for main damage and the Rope Dart for utility. With the recent Level 70 breakthrough, the meta has shifted slightly to include new mechanics like Divine Craft and optimized rotations for the global client.
Ulfhednar shared his updated guide that refines the rotation and gear choices for the current end-game content. It remains efficient: use the Rope Dart to spawn rats for passive damage, then switch to Twinblades to hit the enemy repeatedly.
The Basic Concept & Divine Craft
The core of this build is synergy. You use the Rope Dart to summon “Rodents” (rats) that attack the enemy on their own, then switch to Twinblades for rapid attacks.

New Addition: Divine Craft. You now need to select a specific Divine Craft element to maximize your damage:

- Fire: Recommended for Raids. It causes your attacks to trigger additional explosions.
- Poison: Use this for specific bosses (like the Twin Lion) or solo content, as it deals extra damage to the enemy’s Qi bar.
Weapon Skills and Rotation (The “Double Rat” Tech)
The rotation has been refined. On the global client, we can now stack two rats effectively.
The Opener (Rope Dart)
- Pre-Fight: Start charging your Rope Dart heavy attack before you even engage the boss.
- Charge Attack: Hold the attack button for about 1.5 seconds. This buffs your rats.
- Skill ‘V’ (Rodent Spawn): Use this to spawn your first rat.
- Skill ‘Q’: Applies the “Vendetta” token debuff (rats deal 50% more damage).
- The Second Rat: You are no longer able to spawn a second rat after the 1.2 update. Rats now last longer.
- Swap: Press ‘Tab’ to switch to Twinblades immediately.
- New:Weave ‘Q’ (Spin) into Berserk. Because of the cooldown reduction from Echoes of Oblivion, you can now use ‘Q’ during Berserk to extend the duration of the red bar.
- Sequence: … Twinblade 4x Left Click -> Q -> 4x Left Click ->Berserk ->Left Click spam mixed with ‘Q’ whenever available to extend duration.

The Damage Phase (Twinblade)
- The Combo: Left Click 4 times -> Use Skill ‘Q’ (Spin) -> Left Click 4 times again.
- Skill ‘V’ (Calamity Greed): Use this for the “Enlightened” state cooldown reduction if needed, but prioritize the Berserk loop.
- Berserk Mode: Once you enter the red-bar “Berserk/Desert” mode, only use Left Clicks. Do not use other skills during this mode, as it is actually a DPS loss compared to the rapid light attacks.

Mystic Skills and The “Fire Breath” Warning
These are the special abilities you slot in.
- Soaring Spin: Still the favorite. High damage, gap closer, and reduces enemy healing.
- Drunken Poet: Essential for triggering explosions.
- Dragon’s Breath (Fire Breath):Important Note: Only the last person who applies Fire Breath gets the damage credit. If your whole raid is using it, you are likely overwriting each other. In these cases, it is better to skip Fire Breath and just use Drunken Poet to detonate the fire applied by your teammates.

Inner Ways and Passives
The passive skills—or Inner Skills—have some new optimization rules.
- Fivefold Bleed (Blue): Still one of the best passives for raw damage (10% increase), despite being lower rarity.
- Echoes of Oblivion: Essential for physical penetration. Physical Penetration is now a flat 10. Now gives Crit Rate instead of Precision. Cooldown Reduction on ‘Q’ Skill: T3 and T4 now grant cooldown reduction on the Twinblade ‘Q’ skill. This allows for more ‘Q’ uses during Berserk mode, extending the Berserk duration significantly.
- Moral Chant: A strong damage increase, but stop upgrading at Level 5. The scaling drops to only 1% per level after that, so save your expensive pages.
- Vendetta: Crucial for increasing Rat damage by 50%. T3/T4 no longer gives extra rat damage (massive PvP nerf). Tier 6 damage reduced from 50% to 30% (irrelevant as Tier 6 isn’t obtainable yet). One rat consumes two tokens immediately. This is a quality of life buff because it simplifies the rotation and allows for better overlap with Berserk mode.

Gear and Stat Priority
There are updates on how to tune your gear for Level 70.
Primary Stats to look for:
- Max Physical Attack: This is now prioritized over “Bamboo Cut” because Physical Attack scales your Mystic Skills (like Soaring Spin), whereas Bamboo Cut only scales weapon hits.

- Precision: Aim for 100% accuracy. Missing hits (grey numbers) destroys your DPS.
- Crit Rate & Agility: Standard DPS stats.
- Affinity: If you want to min-max, the Hawkwing gear set (which boosts Affinity Rate) is theoretically the highest damage ceiling, though the standard Calmwaters/Swallow Call set is still perfectly fine for general use.
- Swallow Call Set: This set got a buff. Now applies to Rats (Rodents) as well. 12% damage increase + 10% more Bamboo Cut damage if target <40% Chi. Considered “Top” / Best in Slot now.

Summary
The build has gotten faster and stronger. Start with a charged Rope Dart, summon one rat, swap to Twinblades, and spam left-click during Berserk. Just be careful not to overwrite your teammates’ fire debuffs!
