Where Winds Meet PvE Guide: Silkbind Umbrella and Fan DPS Build
The Silkbind Umbrella and Fan build works by prioritizing Max Physical Attack and Precision stats to ignore minimum damage rolls entirely. You use the Fan to initiate combat and then switch to the Umbrella to unleash rapid, high-speed attacks using the Blossom Barrage passive, which has been buffed in recent patches to cast significantly faster.
Silkbind Umbrella and Fan PvE DPS Guide
This is a guide for the Silkbind Umbrella and Fan build in Where Winds Meet. Ulfhednar shares with us why this setup has become the highest DPS build in the game following the version 1.2 update.
The build focuses on rapid attacks, low cooldowns, and maximizing “Max Physical Attack” rather than the traditional balanced stats. It moves very fast and outputs significant damage numbers.

The Stats and Tuning
The stat priority for this build is slightly different from others.
- Max Physical Attack: You should prioritize Maximum Physical Attack over Minimum.
- The Logic: If your Precision (accuracy) is high enough, you will never hit “Abrasion” (gray damage numbers). Abrasion hits scale off your Minimum Attack. Since you won’t be hitting those, Minimum Attack is a wasted stat. Max Attack also scales your Affinity procs.
- Precision: You need this capped (near 100%) to make the logic above work.
- Crit Rate: Aim for at least 60%.
- Affinity: This is a good secondary stat to have, ideally over 12%.

Inner Skills (Passives)
The update to version 1.2 buffed several specific passives that make this build work.
- Blossom Barrage: This is the most important skill. At Tier 4, it provides a massive damage increase and boosts the casting speed of your Umbrella ‘Q’ skill by 30%.
- Star Reacher: This applies a mark to the enemy that increases the damage they take. The Tier 3 version has been updated to work on bosses (enemies that cannot be knocked airborne).
- Moral Chant: A standard damage increase passive that fits well here.
- Fivefold Bleed: This is recommended for the fourth slot. It applies a Damage-over-Time (DoT) effect which synergies well with certain gear sets.

The Rotation
The rotation involves swapping between the Fan and Umbrella to keep skills on cooldown.
- Fan ‘Q’: Start with the Fan skill.
- Umbrella ‘Q’: Switch and use the main Umbrella attack.
- Charge Heavy (Umbrella): Perform a heavy charge attack.
- Special Tap: Tap the special attack button immediately after the heavy charge to make the Umbrella fly around for extra hits.
- Umbrella ‘Q’: Use the skill again.
- Soaring Spin: Use this Mystic Skill to fill the gap.
- Repeat: Cycle back through the Umbrella skills.

Note: Do not use the “Fire Breath” and “Drunken Poet” combo with this build. The animation time is too long and it results in a DPS loss compared to just using your weapon skills.

Gear Sets
- Hawkwing Set: This is the best set for damage. It gives you bonuses when you trigger an Affinity proc. Since the Umbrella hits very rapidly, you trigger this often.

- Eagle Rise (Armor): This set is a good alternative for your armor slots. It provides damage reduction if you are dealing Damage-over-Time (which you get from the Fivefold Bleed passive).
Summary
This build requires high Precision to function correctly. If you tune your gear for Max Physical Attack and keep your rotation tight, it currently out-damages almost everything else in PvE content.
