Best Location to Find Prickly Pears in ARC Raiders

If you’re looking to upgrade Scrappy from Level 3 to Level 4, you’ll need to gather 6 Prickly Pears, 6 Olives, and 1 Cat Bed.

The best place to find Prickly Pears in ARC Raiders is on the Dam Battlegrounds map — especially when the Lush Blooms event is active, as it greatly increases the amount of nature loot and basket spawns.

Why You Need Prickly Pears

Prickly Pears are a Nature Loot resource used to upgrade Scrappy from Level 3 to Level 4. Alongside Olives and the Cat Bed, they’re part of Scrappy’s mid-tier upgrade path, helping unlock new hideout features and item crafting options.

You’ll need:

• 6× Prickly Pears
• 6× Olives
• 1× Cat Bed

Recommended Preparation

Before heading into Dam Battlegrounds, make sure you’re equipped properly:

• Use a custom loadout that includes Safe Pockets via your augment. This ensures that if you’re eliminated, your Prickly Pears are still safely extracted back home.
• Use our Dam Battlegrounds Interactive Map to plan your route along the eastern, northern, and western outskirts — these areas offer the best chances of spotting cactus plants and gathering Prickly Pears.
• If the Lush Blooms event is active, prioritize playing during this time. Not only will you find extra Nature Baskets scattered around that may contain fruit like Prickly Pears or Olives, but more Prickly Pears naturally spawn across the map during this event — making it the perfect opportunity to stock up efficiently.

Step 1: Load into Dam Battlegrounds

Load into Dam Battlegrounds, and check your map for your spawn location. Depending on where you spawn, you’ll want to follow one of these paths:

• Start from the East Outskirts → travel north → move west, covering the outer edge of the map.
• Or do the reverse, starting West → North → East, if you spawn on the opposite side.

This full outer route gives you the highest chance of encountering cactus plants while avoiding high-traffic PvP zones.

Step 2: Search the Outskirts for Cactus Plants

As you explore the outer perimeter, keep your eyes peeled for cactus plants. Prickly Pears can be found growing beneath them.

They’re much rarer than Lemons or Apricots, and the spawn locations aren’t guaranteed, so you may need to circle around a few times or switch instances to find enough.

Because these are often contested by other Raiders, stay cautious and use cover and binoculars to scout safely from a distance.

Step 3: Optional – Lush Blooms Event Advantage

If the Lush Blooms event is active, you’ll have a much easier time collecting Prickly Pears. You can find Nature Baskets scattered across Dam Battlegrounds that sometimes contain fruit like Prickly Pears or Olives.

This is a great alternative or supplemental method, especially if you’re completing other quests on the same map.

Step 4: Extract and Secure Your Loot

Once you’ve gathered enough Prickly Pears, find the closest extraction zone and head out to Speranza.
Make sure to store your loot in your Safe Pocket before extraction to keep it secure in case of defeat.

When you’re safely back, you’ll be ready to continue gathering Olives and the Cat Bed to finish Scrappy’s upgrade to Level 4.

What’s Next

Now that you’ve gathered your Prickly Pears, your next step is to find Olives — which can be found on the Blue Gate map, typically around the Olive Grove area – South of the map. Once you’ve collected all the ingredients, visit Scrappy in your hideout to complete the upgrade.
