Damage Fireflies: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
To damage Fireflies effectively:
- Load into Spaceport with the Hidden Bunker event active
- Find a decent high ground spot on the northern side of the map to spot Fireflies
- Utilize the Jupiter and something longer range like the Osprey to aggro Fireflies from range
- Rotate using Ziplines and Snap Hook to reach different vantage points to search for more Fireflies while the others respawn
- You’ll earn 800 score per fully damage and destroyed Firefly.
In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and damage Fireflies to maximize your score and etch your place in the Speranza hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 4000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for this Trial only comes from damaging Fireflies. Each Firefly nets you 800 score if fully damaged and destroyed by you or your party.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires dealing as much damage to Fireflies as possible within the raids time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a good weapon for killing flying ARC and some good movement utility. We recommend bringing:
- 2-3x Jupiter – they’ll break after some usage so having multiple is a must
- As much Energy Clips as you can carry
- A long range weapon to aggro Fireflies from range, such as the Osprey
Survivor MK.3 Augment - Medium Shield
- 10
Shield Rechargers - 10-15
Bandages - 10-15
Adrenaline Shots - 2-5
Smoke Grenades - Some
Ziplines (around 6) or
Snap Hook
Photoelectric Cloak
Can I use a Free Loadout for the Damage Fireflies weekly Trial?
Yes, you can use a Free Loadout to get 4,000 score for your weekly 3-star rewards in this Trial. However, to get a larger score for promotion, we recommend a full loadout as your ammo and resources would be limited otherwise.
Should I use aggression-based matchmaking for friendly lobbies?
Yes, we also highly recommend utilizing this method for friendly lobbies as it yields consistently safe results.
Map
The best map to push for an effective score is Spaceport with the Hidden Bunker 2x Modifier enabled. However, any 2x modifier can work at worst. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
The BEST Route for Maximizing Score
The best way to gain score is without a doubt playing on the Hidden Bunker Event on Spaceport. In this map event, you’ll be able to post up on a couple of high ground locations and pick off Fireflies from a distance. You’ll also have 40 minutes of raid time to do this Trial, making it a perfect opportunity to maximize score. This method is also our recommended go-to for both a solo attempt or party attempt.
Either Solo or in a party, make sure to shoot the center-mass with the Jupiter for optimal results.
Solo Lobby
We recommend as a solo to set-up on the South Trench Tower. Here, you’ll have a great view of most of the Fireflies on the map. However, you’ll need to rotate around between South Trench Tower, Shipping Warehouse and Arrival Building to get the most out of the northern locations. As a result, setting up ziplines as a permanent rotate route is ideal. You can follow the green route lines above for the Ziplines. Once you have these positions set-up, you can begin using your Jupiter to damage and destroy Fireflies. To speed up the spawns and to make sure Hornets do not hold their respawn slot, destroy any Hornet you see too. If you do this, you’ll increase the odds of a new Firefly spawn.
Rotating between these three main locations, and looking out towards the Rocket Assembly from the South Trench Tower, is your best bet at earning a ton of score for the weekly Trial. You can expect to earn upwards of 30,000+ score on a good run. It is important to note that you’ll get the best results from this method if the Central Elevator extraction is the final extract.
Squad Lobby
As a party, you can split up into these three locations:
- Player 1: South Trench Tower, Shipping Warehouse, Arrival Building
- Player 2: Rocket Assembly
- Player 3: Control Tower, Container Storage
With this set-up, each member of the party can get line of sight and be in range to damage and destroy every Firefly on the map. Also, you’ll be able to remove more Hornets too to get more Firefly spawns. Depending on the final extraction, you’ll have to plan an optimal exit strategy to meet up and get out. As a result, pre-plan routes and times based on which extract you have.
We expect players to reach around 50,000 score with this method, maybe more on a crazy run!
Fast 3-Star Rewards and Alternative Options
For a fast 3-star reward, you can simply hop into any 2x event modified map with a cheaper loadout, for example you can use an
Anvil if you want to be budget. We’ll use Buried City as an example. You can spawn in, head to the nearest rooftop to look out for Fireflies. Once you find them, aggro them and begin to hit it center mass until it is destroyed. If it’s taking too long, however, you can attempt to break the armor plates off of the front drone fans and destroy them. Once you’re at 4,000 score (which requires you to fully damage and destroy 5 Fireflies), you can immediately extract and enjoy your rewards.
