Deal as much damage as possible using a Heavy Fuze Grenade: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
To Deal as much damage as possible using a Heavy Fuze Grenade effectively:
- Load into any map that contains a
Bastion or
Bombardier spawn - Find a good spot to make sure the ARC doesn’t move too much but also provides you cover
- Throw a well-placed Heavy Fuze Grenade at the Bastion or Bombardier
- Your score is judged on a single Heavy Fuze Grenade use, and not total
- You’ll earn up to around 4,000~ score on a near-perfect Heavy Fuze Grenade on a Large ARC
- You have room to optimize this trial by going to Stella Montis, gathering Shredders into a single room and trapping there. Once you’re ready, you can launch your Heavy Fuze Grenade attempts into a clump of Shredders for max score.
In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and deal as much damage as possible using a Heavy Fuze Grenade.

Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 3000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for this Trial only comes from dealing damage with a single Heavy Fuze Grenade. If thrown at a large ARC, you can expect the range of 2,000-5,000~ score. The system only measures the highest damage you achieve through a single Heavy Fuze Grenade.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires dealing as much Heavy Fuze Grenade damage as possible within the raids time limit with a single Grenade. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a gun to defend yourself with and Heavy Fuze Grenades. We recommend bringing:
- Any gun + Ammo you feel like bringing as a back-up plan
Survivor MK.3 Augment - Medium Shield (recommended to survive accidents with a Bastion or Bombardier)
- 5
Shield Rechargers - 5-10
Bandages - 1-5
Lure Grenades (optional) - As many
Heavy Fuze Grenades as you can afford to bring for more attempts at a high score
Can I use a Free Loadout for the Deal as much damage as possible using a Heavy Fuze Grenade weekly Trial?
No, we do not currently recommend attempting this in a Free Loadout. Heavy Fuze Grenades are a must for the Trial. As a result, a Free Loadout where you cannot bring your own equipment would create a lot of issues.
Should I use aggression-based matchmaking for friendly lobbies?
Yes, we also highly recommend utilizing this method for friendly lobbies as it yields consistently safe results.
Map
There is not a “best” map to recommend for this Trial. However, you can select a map that has either Bastion or Bombardier spawn, such as Dam Battlegrounds for an easy run of 3,000 score. We also recommend trying Stella Montis to squeeze out optimal score if you’re trying to promote. You can do this on the normal map or any conditions you prefer. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
Strategy
For our example, we selected Dam Battlegrounds to find a Bastion or Bombardier spawn.
Solo and Party lobby
This Trial can be attempted in solo or party lobbies, it will not change the way the trial works, however. As a result, there is really no benefit from picking one lobby type over the other.

If you’re dealing with a Bombardier, we recommend taking out the Spotters first. It’s better to do so to make sure the Bombardier isn’t perfectly accurate after you aggro it.
Once you’re ready to attempt your Heavy Fuze Grenade throw, prepare yourself to make some movements close to the ARC you’re throwing it at. You’ll want to keep the Bombardier or Bastion as still as possible to get the most out of grenade. As a result, it might be worth bringing some
Lure Grenades to throw under the ARC to keep them steady.

Landing a clean Heavy Fuze Grenade and keeping the Bombardier or Bastion in place will easily earn your 3-star reward and push the 3,800 – 4,000~ score mark.
Finally, remember that your score is judged on a SINGLE Heavy Fuze Grenade. Even if you throw 50 Heavy Fuze Grenades in a match, only the highest damage achieved from one will count.
Alternative Strategies
An alternative angle you can take to tackling this challenge is to herd up multiple ARC enemies to hit with a single Heavy Fuze Grenade.
For example, you can utilize the Stella Montis map and horde together as many Shredders as possible. Shredders are probably the best for this as they are very mobile, easy to lock into rooms and are fairly high HP pool compared to a Pop.
With enough ARC locked in one room that you choose, you can push over 10,000 score. As a result, this is a perfect alternative to try your luck if you’re attempting to promote up the ranks.
