How to Get Shredder Gyros in ARC Raiders
To get Shredder Gyros in ARC Raiders, you must actively hunt and destroy Shredders – fast-moving, aggressive ARC units currently exclusive to the Stella Montis map. Unlike scavenging for static loot, you will need to destroy these ARCs in order to loot Shredder Gyros, unless its a week where Damage Shredders Trial is on – in that case you can run around looting Shredder Husks left behind by players trying to push the Leaderboards during Stella Montis Night Raid. Here’s a video guide that shows an effective way to destroy Shredders (using a Hullcracker) and it includes some useful tips for your general Shredder Hunter Loadout and where to find them on the map:
Why You Need Shredder Gyros in ARC Raiders
Shredder Gyros are a mandatory resource for two major progression milestones in Speranza. If you are pushing for Seasonal Projects or Expedition unlocks, you will need to stockpile these.
1. Trophy Display Project (Stage 3: Ferocious Foes)

This stage focuses on documenting the most agile threats topside. You will need:
10 × ARC Performance Steel
5 × Shredder Gyro
10 × Leaper Pulse Unit
5 × Bastion Cell

2. Second Expedition Project (Phase 3: Framework)
Expanding your reach into new territories requires advanced stabilization tech. Phase 3 (Framework) of the second Expedition Project requires 10 × Shredder Gyros to proceed.
How to Kill Shredders
Shredders are essentially flying armor plates, but they have one massive vulnerability: their propulsion. To save ammo and time, you must avoid the armor plating and target the blue-lit thrusters/propellers located on their underside and sides.
- The Hullcracker Method (Fast): The most efficient way to deal with Shredders is using the Hullcracker grenade launcher. Aiming for the thruster area will usually destroy a Shredder in 2-3 shots, making it the premier choice for dedicated farmers.

- Ballistic Options: If you aren’t carrying a launcher, use Heavy ammo weapons or hard-hitting Medium ammo guns like the Renegade or Venator. These weapons provide enough punch to destroy the thrusters quickly and trigger a stagger state.

Best Shredder Gyro Farming Locations
Since Shredders are exclusive to Stella Montis, your farming route should rotate between these three high-density zones:
- The Lobby: The ground floor of the main lobby often hosts several patrolling Shredders. The open architecture makes them easy to spot, but be wary of other Raiders camping the balconies.
- Robotic Sandbox: This area features a high concentration of mobile ARC units. It is common to find 2-4 Shredders roaming here at any given time. Make sure to check the upper observation decks as Shredders often roam up there as well.
- Cultural Archives: A slightly more enclosed area that requires careful kiting. However, the density of Shredder spawns here is pretty high with 3 shredders usually spawning across the Archives zone.

Extra Tips for Hunting Shredder Gyros in ARC Raiders
1. Audio-Visual Clues: Shredders announce their attack with a distinct mechanical whine. Visually, their primary attack consists of three quick waves of shrapnel. It is important to note that the damage is dealt at the start of the third wave, not the end. Once you see that third wave begin, it is safe to peek from cover and return fire.

2. Safe Pockets: Shredder Gyros are notoriously elusive. The moment you see that Rare (Blue-quality) part, secure it in your Safe Pocket. Do not risk losing a 20-minute hunt to an extraction ambush. Since Shredder Gyros stack up to 3 items, we recommend using an Augment that has at least 2 Safe Pockets, such as the Looting Mk. 2.
3. Day Raids are Sufficient: Unlike hunting for Trial high scores where Night Raids are preferred, Day Raids on Stella Montis are perfectly fine for Gyro hunting. Shredders still spawn in significant numbers (1-3 per major area) and their drop rate remains consistent enough that you don’t need the added danger of a Night Raid to find enough Shredder Gyros.
