Live Update 1.42.0 Patch Notes: Phantom Targets Part 2

ARC Raiders Live Update 1.42.0 went live on August 18, 2026, and it is a mixed bag of event content, audio work, and ARC behavior fixes. The headline additions are Phantom Targets Part 2 with the Anomalia Outfit, the Tick Hunter Set, and a rework of how Map Conditions are scheduled.
One thing we’ve done here at Metaforge right away is update our Event Schedule to reflect this update.
What actually changed in update 1.42.0
Short version: this is a polish patch with an event bolted on. No live weapon balance changes, no new map, no economy shake-up.
What you will notice in a raid is the audio pass and two ARC fixes. Indoor footsteps and the Queen and Matriarch stomp behaviour are the ones most likely to change how a fight goes.

Here is the whole thing, and what each bit means for you. As well as the rest of the Patch notes from Embark:
| Change | Category | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Phantom Targets Part 2 added as a Raider Project | Event | New project stages to work through, with the Anomalia Outfit as the payoff |
| Tick Hunter Set now available | Cosmetics | New set in the game, though the notes never say how you get it (TBC) |
| Map Conditions offset by region | Systems | Condition timings now follow regional peak hours instead of one global clock |
| Indoor footsteps refined, scuff sounds removed | Audio | Cleaner indoor audio and easier to judge distance when tracking someone |
| Tier 3 magazine upgrades get unique firing sounds | Audio | You can pick out a fully upgraded magazine by ear now |
| Queen and Matriarch stomps no longer hit through walls | Gameplay | Hard cover actually works against both bosses again |
| Photoelectric Cloak works vs Turbine lightning and Matriarch missiles | Gameplay | The cloak now covers two attacks it used to ignore completely |
| Surge Coil Trap given spawn protection | Gameplay | No more getting caught by a trap the second you spawn in |
| Quick Wheel slots can be rebound | Quality of life | Set your Quick Wheel up however you like |
| Dolabra, Hullcracker, and Rascal damage fixed in Practice Range | Gameplay | Range numbers for those three finally match their real values |
| Buried City zip line repositioned | Map | That zip line that would not give you a prompt is fixed |
| Twitch Drops: Car Freshener and Ceramic Vase | Cosmetics | Two new drops to grab by linking your account and watching |
A Note on Third Party Software
When we see reports of third party software being used to gain an advantage of any kind, in-game or at account level, we investigate. The first and most important step is to verify the validity of the report and whether or not the software actually does what it claims to do. A lot of the time, claims are just that, and interacting with this kind of software carries a large amount of risk.
Be aware that downloading unverified and unofficial software can put more than just your account at risk. Beyond getting banned and losing access to the game, your data and personal information could be exposed.
Remember that your account is only as secure as its weakest link. In order to protect your account, your purchases and progression, we strongly recommend making sure 2FA or passkeys are enabled on all external accounts connected to your Embark ID. Oh, and never share your credentials with anyone. No matter how many ducks they offer.
Recent Actions & Future Plans
Over the past few weeks, we have been making several improvements alongside Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat. This has resulted in swift action being taken against a large number of accounts that were using recently popularized cheating software.
There is also the matter of ensuring permanent sanctions for serial, blatant cheaters. We continue working on methods that make it more difficult for new accounts to be obtained and that discourage cheaters from returning.
There have been compounding improvements in our ability to also detect accounts that participated in what we classify as “economy exploits”, which means we can more quickly sanction offenders. These types of sanctions have been ongoing.
Additionally, we have several simultaneous initiatives that are meant to address teaming and general matchmaking abuse. We know how important having a consistently good experience is, and that in certain regions or at certain times, it’s easier to run into groups of players that try to force their way into lobbies and engage in griefing. We’ll share more when all of these are ready.
And that’s, of course, not all. We’ll keep building up all of the initiatives we mentioned and we’ll do our best to make sure that your experiences across the Rust Belt are fun, thrilling, and most importantly fair.

Congratulations to the Winners of the Rubber Duck Design Contest!
Last Thursday, the 3 finalists of the Rubber Duck Design Contest were selected via popular vote on our Discord. We have since begun working on bringing the ducks into the game, and we will add them in a future update!
Soon enough, you’ll be able to fill your Raider Den with ducks made by the super-talented gekko.rar, im_AshCheeks and nassguhl.
