How to Solve the Dragon’s Stone Chamber Puzzle in Crimson Desert
The Dragon’s Stone Chamber puzzle in Crimson Desert is one of the trickiest early-game puzzles you’ll run into, and the game gives you almost nothing to work with. You need to rotate three stone dials inside a hidden chamber to near pixel-perfect positions – and the clues for each dial are scattered across the map on cliff faces you might never find on your own. If you just want the solution and don’t care about hunting down the murals yourself, we’ve got the exact dial positions below. If you want the full experience, we’ve also marked where to find every clue. The chamber is located in the Hernand Highlands, right next to your Greymane Camp on Howling Hill, and the rewards are well worth the headache. Where to Find the Puzzle Chamber in Crimson Desert
You can access the Dragon’s Stone Chamber once you’ve reached Chapter 3 and set up the Greymane Camp. If you’ve been exploring around camp, you’ve probably noticed a large “?” icon (Mysterious Energy) on your map just southeast of the camp. That’s your target.
Head south from the camp and look for a large hole in the ground – it’s a massive ravine that’s hard to miss. You can glide down into it or climb down the cliff faces. Once you’re in the ravine, look to the north/northwest and you’ll spot a brightly colored painted wall carved into the rock face. That’s the entrance to the Dragon’s Stone Chamber.

How to Open the Dragon’s Stone Chamber Door
You can’t just walk up and push the door open right away. There are a couple of steps to get inside:
1. Look for the fresco and check your Lantern. You’ll find a fresco etched into the side of the cliff at the bottom of the pit. When you get close, your Lantern will give you a signal – that means there’s a memory nearby. You can learn the memory and watch it with your Visione helmet if you want the lore context.
2. Push the wall open. There’s a piece of wall here that looks exactly like a door. Just walk up to it and keep pushing – if you keep at it, the wall will give in and you’ll be able to get inside. Some players also need to burn the foliage first using Blinding Flash before pushing. On PC, hold Ctrl + Left Mouse Button to enter the stance, then release Ctrl and hold it again to focus the light. On controller, hold RB + LB, then release RB and hold it again.
3. Check the chamber. Once you’re inside, you’ll see a large dragon statue at the back, a pit in the center with three rotatable wheels, and a couple of maps on the walls. Those wall paintings are actually how you solve the puzzle – they mark the location of patterns that you need to turn correctly on the wheels.

How the Puzzle Works
Inside the chamber, you’ll find three stone wheels in a pit in the center of the room. Each wheel has a unique pattern carved into it, and you can grab and rotate them. Behind the dragon statue is a sealed door – that’s where your reward is. To open it, all three wheels need to be rotated to the exact correct positions.
The trick is that the correct positions aren’t obvious just from looking at the wheels. There are a couple of maps on the walls inside the chamber – those wall paintings actually mark locations out in the world where you’ll find the patterns that show you the correct orientation for each wheel. The marks point to cliff faces at Anvil Hill, and the round building in the mural corresponds to Halssius’s House of Healing. You can check the MetaForge Interactive Map for exact locations if you want to find them yourself.
But since you’re probably already inside and just want the solution – let’s do it right here.

Puzzle Solution – All Three Wheel Positions
Here’s the exact solution for all three wheels. Jump into the pit and rotate each one to match these positions. We’ve included custom guide images for each wheel to make it as clear as possible. These need to be extremely precise – we’re talking near pixel-perfect alignment. If the door doesn’t open, you’re probably off by just a hair on one of them. Nudge each wheel slightly until the chamber opens.
First Wheel (Sun and Tree): This one is pretty simple. Just turn it naturally so the sun is at the top and the roots of the tree are at the bottom. You’re basically lining it up exactly straight. Check the guide image below – it’s the most straightforward of the three.

Second Wheel (Off-Center Pattern): This one is a little bit off center, so pay close attention to the guide image. There’s a crack going across the whole wheel from top to bottom – we’ve highlighted it in red in the image. The crack needs to sit just a little bit to the right of the bottom guide line. It’s not centered, it’s nudged slightly right. This is the one that gave us the most trouble and needed a bit of extra nudging to get into position.

Third Wheel (Tiger Head): For this one, you’re rotating the wheel until something that looks like a head of a tiger on the right side is looking slightly down and to the left. It’s not exactly horizontal – it’s going a little bit down. Check the red guides in the image to see exactly how to line it up.

Once all three wheels are in position, the door underneath the dragon statue will open up. If it doesn’t open, the middle wheel is likely the culprit – just nudge it a tiny bit until it clicks into place. Head through to claim your rewards.
Dragon’s Stone Chamber Puzzle Rewards
Solving the Dragon’s Stone Chamber puzzle gets you three rewards that are all genuinely useful:
- Abyss Cresset (fast travel point) – Unlocks a fast travel point right inside the chamber. It’s near your Greymane Camp, so it’s a handy shortcut back to your home base area.
- Abyss Artifact – Grants you an additional skill point to spend on abilities. These are always valuable and there are only so many in the game, so every one counts.
- Memories of Abundance – A consumable item that, when used from your inventory, reveals seven hidden locations and points of interest across the entire Hernand region on your map. This includes caves, treasure spots, and other secrets. Use it immediately – it’s a huge boost to your exploration.
