Where to Find Gold Ore in Enshrouded

Gold Ore was added to Enshrouded with the Wake of the Water Update, and it’s commonly found underwater. Around the Veil Water Basin Spire is an easy location. To mine it, you’ll need the Mining Sieve, unlocked after completing the “A Tool for Underwater Mining” quest from Oswald Anders.

Step 1 – Complete “A Tool for Underwater Mining”

Before you can mine Gold Ore, you’ll need to finish the quest “A Tool for Underwater Mining” from Oswald Anders, the blacksmith. Completing this quest rewards you with the Mining Sieve, which allows you to mine underwater materials like Gold Ore. Without it, you won’t be able to collect any underwater resources.

Step 2 – Travel to the Veil Water Basin Spire

Once you have the Mining Sieve, fast travel to the Veil Water Basin Spire. This is the easiest and most reliable location to find Gold Ore. The surrounding waters contain multiple ore nodes that are close together, making it perfect for quick and efficient mining runs.

Step 3 – Equip the Mining Sieve and Dive

Equip your Mining Sieve from your inventory, then dive into the water around the spire. You’ll find several glowing gold ore nodes scattered along the basin floor. These nodes respawn over time, so you can return regularly to restock your supply.

Step 4 – Mine and Manage Your Oxygen

As you mine, keep an eye on your oxygen meter. if it drops too low you will start to drown and take damage so just swim back to the surface to reset your air supply, then dive again to continue mining. Using this method, you can easily collect plenty of Gold Ore in a short session. You’ll also find plenty of algae in the same area, which can be collected for crafting.

Step 5 – Use Gold Ore to Strengthen Your Flame

Gold Ore is essential for strengthening your Flame, which is one of the most important upgrades in the game. Strengthening your Flame increases your progression level and unlocks access to new quests and exploration areas. This should be your first priority when using Gold Ore.

Step 6 – Smelt Gold Ore into Gold Bars and Gold Dust

After you’ve upgraded your Flame, start smelting Gold Ore into Gold Bars at your furnace. Gold Bars can then be used to craft Gilded equipment like the Gilded Pickaxe and Gilded Axe. You can also process Gold Bars in the Mill to create Gold Dust, which is used in more advanced crafting recipes introduced in the Wake of the Water Update.
