How this works, and what it does not know yet
The map, its tiles and every named place on it come from the same datamined source as the Wardogs interactive map, so a game update refreshes both together. Coordinates are the ones the game's own readout gives you: the origin sits at the south-west corner of the capture, x runs east, y runs north, and one unit is 100 m — so the heavy grid lines are kilometre squares and the light ones are 100 m.
Azimuth is a compass bearing, 0° north and 90° east, shown in degrees and in mils at 6400 to the circle. Range is the flat distance between the two points. Height difference is not in this yet, so a target well below or above you will need a little more walking in than the numbers suggest.
Elevation is deliberately blank. The L81 Mortar's minimum and maximum ranges here are community measurements rather than anything we have pulled out of the game, and nothing published maps a range to the dial setting that reaches it. Rather than interpolate a number that would put rounds in the wrong field, the tool gives you the azimuth and the range and leaves elevation to you until we have a measured table.
