The Best Gold-Making Strategies for Alchemy in World of Warcraft: Forever
In World of Warcraft: Forever, crafting professions are seeing major updates to their market dynamics. While classic consumable markets remain very strong, Forever fundamentally shifts how Alchemists make gold. Healing potions have moved to First Aid, making room for brand-new combat utility potions, specialized craft reagents, and high-value Transmutes.
If you are looking to make good gold on the Auction House on launch day and throughout Phase 1, here is your playbook for maximizing gold with Alchemy in WoW: Forever.

1. Capitalize on New Offense & Throwable Potions
Because standard health restoration now falls under First Aid, Alchemists control an entirely new market niche: offensive utility consumables that every class can use.
Caustic Smog Potion & Dragonfire Potion: These non-bound AOE and cone damage potions give classes without strong AoE capabilities a fresh way to push dungeon clears faster.
Stat Flasks & Power Elixirs: Even though you still have the same classic flasks you'd normally use, like Flask of Supreme Power, Flask of the Titans, etc. In WoW Forever we ALSO get new flasks that are intended for different areas. For example, Flask of Natural Aggression is providing Stamina and also adds 4% Crit Rate when the player is in Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps. These Flasks will ALWAYS be good for making gold as they are very in demand around raid days.
2. Supply Other Crafters with Essential Reagents
In WoW: Forever, Alchemists are not limited to selling potions to raid groups—they are now core suppliers for other crafters.
Dyes & Acids: New intermediate recipes like Cerulean Dye, Magenta Dye, Viridian Dye, and Sulfuric Acid are required by Tailors, Leatherworkers, and Blacksmiths. Selling these on the Auction House lets you cash in on other players leveling up their own gear professions. Usually the ingredients required to make these cost considerably less than the end product so there's always profit to be made if you are willing to sit on the auction house and turn base mats into Dyes.
Fish-Based Oils: Intermediate components such as Blackmouth Oil, Fire Oil, and Stonescale Oil remain major craft bottlenecks. Leveling Fishing alongside Alchemy or snapping up underpriced raw fish on the market allows you to turn cheap fishies into expensive crafting ingredients.

3. Corner the Market with High-Value Transmutes
Transmutation is where high-end Alchemists will see massive gold margins, especially early on in the expansion's lifecycle.
Legionite Bar Transmutes: One of the most sought-after new recipes in Forever is the Transmute for Legionite. With a ~47-hour cooldown and heavy demand from Blacksmiths crafting weapons like the Legionite Glaive (which requires 15 bars), Alchemists who unlock and run this cooldown reliably can set their own prices on the Auction House.
Elemental & Essence Transmutes: As high-level crafters assemble pre-raid Best-in-Slot (Pre-BiS) sets, transmuting rare elements will yield consistent daily profits with minimal time investment.
With Transmutes, there are a lot of transmutes you can do as an Alchemist, turning different elemental essences into others for profit or just transmuting Iron into Gold, Mithril into Truesilver, etc. This is an obvious way of making gold early into WoW Forever, and even later on with Legionite.
4. Key Tips for Launch Day
To maximize your profit margins when WoW: Forever launches on November 4:
Pair with Herbalism: Buying raw herbs during launch week will eat through your gold. Pair Alchemy with Herbalism to gather raw materials while leveling, and keep an eye out for new Scarce materials (like Frilled Lichen) that drop as rare gathering bonuses.
Target Crafting Bottlenecks: Save your herbs for intermediate materials used across multiple recipes rather than dumping raw potions onto a flooded market early on.
Watch Raid Reset Days: Stockpile offensive potions and stat elixirs during the week, then list them on prime raiding nights when demand and prices peak.
