Damage Turbines: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
To Damage Turbines effectively:
- Load into Riven Tides, as it’s the only map the Turbine spawns (Night Raid has a higher Turbine spawn rate)
- Check out our interactive map for Turbine spawn locations
- Hold out until around 16 minutes is left in the raid
- There is not a guarantee that the Turbine will spawn, if you don’t see it around the 13 minute remaining mark, reset the lobby
- If you find one, you can blast it repeatedly with Jupiter until it’s weak point is open and you eventually destroy it
- Alternatively, you can get up close and personal and use Deadlines to deal a lot of damage
In this guide, we’ll go over the best ways to approach and Damage Turbines to maximize your score and etch your place in the Speranza hotshots.
Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 3000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
Scoring
The scoring for this Trial only comes from damaging Turbines. A full destroyed Turbine nets you thousands of score (please check back for fully accurate numbers)
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires dealing as much damage to Turbines as possible within the raids time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a powerful ARC destroying weapon and some utilities and other tech if you prefer it. We recommend bringing:
- 2-3x Jupiter – they’ll break after some usage so having multiple is a must
- As much Energy Clips as you can carry
Survivor MK.3 Augment - Medium Shield
- 10
Shield Rechargers - 10-15
Bandages - 5-10
Adrenaline Shots - 2-5
Smoke Grenades - Some
Ziplines or
Snap Hook
Photoelectric Cloak- Deadlines (if you want to approach the Turbine up close or with a Snap Hook)
Can I use a Free Loadout for the Damage Turbines weekly Trial?
We currently do not recommend a Free Loadout for damaging a Turbine. You’ll likely not have enough ammo to gain enough score for 3-star rewards or higher. You’ll definitely not have enough medical consumables either.
Should I use aggression-based matchmaking for friendly lobbies?
Yes, we also highly recommend utilizing this method for friendly lobbies as it yields consistently safe results.
Map
While you can find Turbines on various maps, we recommend Riven Tides. The heavily open areas helps for long range pinging with the Jupiter. We also recommend attempting the Trial on a Night Raid. This is because the Turbine has a higher spawn rate at night. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
The BEST Route for Maximizing Score
There currently is not really a best method to approach this Trial. The Turbine currently has a chance to spawn, and isn’t guaranteed. However, Night Raid increases the spawn rate. You’ll have to wait till there’s 17-13 minutes left in the raid to know if it’s spawning. If it doesn’t spawn, immediately reset.
Solo & Squad lobby
Approaching the Turbine does not change in general strategy in solo or party play. As a result, we’ll keep them together in this guide. You’ll know the Turbine spawns when you hear a specific audio queue and see the giant flying in the sky.
If the Turbine is not being attacked, it’ll land and expose it’s weak point core. The yellow core is protected by thin layers of armor that can be broken off fairly quickly.
While the Turbine is stationary, you can get some good damage on the weak point. However, you have to be very careful as the Turbine plants tons of landmines around itself when docked. If you walk within 10 meters of the mines they’ll activate and deal damage. You can crouch to get by them if you’re careful. If you have a Photoelectric Cloak, you could probably walk up close to it and place a deadline or two. However this is also risky. If it works though, you’ll deal insane damage and get a ton of score, perhaps even destroy it.
Recommended Strategy
Despite the above, we actually recommend just shooting the Turbine while it’s airborne with a Jupiter. While you’re attacking, the Turbine doesn’t land to begin with. This means that if other raiders are shooting it, it won’t dock anywhere, meaning this strategy is consistent. Another important note is that the further away you are from the Turbine, the safer you are from insane triple lightning blast attacks it launches.
Damage Turbine score gain when using the Jupiter
Currently, each Jupiter shot on the Turbine while it’s flying nets around 150~ score per shot. This means that each Energy Clip you use is around 750~ score. As a result, you’ll need to use a minimum of 4 full Energy Clips to get 3000 score when shooting the Turbine in the sky. It’s safe to assume that you’ll need more though so please ensure you bring more than enough shots. It’s important to bring extra Jupiter + Energy Clips just incase more than one Turbine spawns and you (or your party if you’re in one) want to push for more score.
If you do not have the ability to use the Jupiter, you can settle for the Hullcracker as a more accessible option. Just be aware that there’s a lot more of a drop-off in terms of aiming so you may have to get a bit closer (which is dangerous!).
