Open Containers in Old Town: How to get the BEST score in ARC Raiders Trials
To Open Containers in Old Town effectively:
- Load into the Buried City map
- The entire Old Town area is viable for score
- Bring additional keys with you just incase to open more areas for containers
- Search and open every interactable container you find within the Old Town area
- Opening containers gives 200 score. Opening 15 containers gives you the 3-star rewards
- Extract when you’re ready

Trial Preparation
This trial can be done in all party sizes to an effective level, whether that’s gaining your 3-star rating (which requires 3000 score) or pushing to maximize your points for promotion.
What you’ll need
For this Trial, the objective requires searching as many containers within Old Town as possible within the raid’s time limit. As a result, you’ll mostly need essentials, a weapon for killing small ARC, and some good movement utility. We recommend bringing:
- A weapon such as the Anvil IV to deal with ARC (and some Heavy Ammo or whichever ammo is for your weapon of choice)
Survivor MK.3 Augment (however, you can realistically use any for this Trial)- Light Shield or
Medium Shield - 10
Shield Rechargers - 5
Bandages - 10-15+
Adrenaline Shots - a
Zipline or two or a 
Snap Hook for easier traversal
Which map is best for this trial?
This Trial is specifically for the Buried City map. You can do this on the normal map or any conditions you prefer. Check our Event Timers to know when your next chance is!
The red lines above indicate the area you’ll need to search containers within. This a rough approximate on the area that counts. You’ll need to search high and low inside buildings for optimal score gain.
How to get the best score for this trial
As your time in a trial is limited based on the raid timer, to get the best score, attempt the following:
- Start by clearing the upper floors of most buildings, the map puts you on top of buildings more often than on the ground
- Planning around the rooftops, you can look for open roof windows to hop into
- Check every cupboard and kitchen area of houses, you can potentially find multiple containers here
- Check for key rooms or bring your own keys, they could be open already which would save you the key you brought. Either way, it’ll give you access to more containers for score!
- Once you’ve opened as much as you can within the time of the raid, head to the extract and claim your rewards
There is several types of containers you can expect to find, such as:
- Cupboards
- Fridges
- Security Breaches (random, however)
- Drawers
- Suitcases
- Desk Drawers
- Weapon Crates
- Raider Bags
- Trashcans
- And more
A fast way to gain 3-star score (3,000) is to start in the west-most buildings of Old Town. A single interior here with good RNG can net the entire 3,000 score required immediately.
The building marked on the map is pretty popular as a loot farming route option. However, it doesn’t matter if another Raider has already hit this location, you can still interact with the containers and get score. You can expect to get 2,000-3,000 score in this building alone.
Moving across to the next building directly north, you’ll find another great loot haul. If you didn’t get your 3-star reward in the first building, you’ll definitely get it in the second.
You’ll find a room that is barred by two breach-able doors. Once you’re in, you’ll find typically 6+ containers on average.
It is worth noting that the cars outside of the Old Town buildings that can be breached into do not seem to give score. As a result, a large portion of the ground floor outside of the buildings is worth avoiding.
Which Buried City Key rooms count for this Trial?
Every key room that is within the Old Town perimeter can be used to gain more score. We recommend bringing or at least checking:
Each of these key rooms count for the trial, and provide a varying amount of potential containers to open for score. These two Key Rooms open from the same key, as a result you may need to bring two keys if another Raider hasn’t opened any.
Can I use a Free Loadout for the Open Containers in Old Town Weekly Trial?
Yes! We highly recommend you to make use of the Free Loadout option when attempting this Trial. Especially if you’re low on gear and cash in your stash, or simply do not want to lose anything. The map is fairly small in size so you should be able to accomplish everything that you need for this trial.
