The Farmer has recipes for different animal food baits needed to tame animals. Make goat food baits with the Farmer to tame your first farming animal! You will most likely need at least 3 goat food baits to proceed meaningfully.

You've crafted some animal baits! Now it's time to find a goat. To tame an animal, you must approach it carefully. Sneak to avoid alerting the animal. Select the food bait and throw it close to the animal to gain its attention. Wait for the goat to eat, and try to pet it while it is feeding to establish a bond. You will need to be close to pet the animal. Repeat the process until the animal begins to trust you. Once it is comfortable, you can pick it up.

You've tamed and picked up a farming animal! Take them home to your base and place them! Your farming animal will roam around, so consider building an enclosure!

You've placed the goat. Now, you should craft and place the necessary amenities. To satisfy your animal's needs, it will need a Common Goat feeder and a farm animal pillow. If you have 2 happy animals close to each other and an extra spare bed, the animals can reproduce. Craft a goat feeder and a farm animal pillow!
