Where to Find Mithril Ore in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

You can find Mithril Ore by following a specific, safe farming route starting at the Wizard teleporter in the Dowdun Reach region. Mithril ore is required for Tier 6 gear, and finding it consistently can be a bit of a chore if you don’t know where the nodes are tucked away. This route covers four specific nodes that are relatively easy to access for casual players, yielding roughly 52 ores per run.

An Efficient Mithril Ore Farming Route

If you are looking for the most efficient way to gather materials, consistency is usually better than speed. This particular route is designed for players who want to avoid high-level danger while still maintaining a steady intake of ore. Before you head out, I’d suggest checking your spell book for the Rock Explosion skill. It is needed to shatter the top parts of the nodes where you can’t reach with a pickaxe.

The First and Second Mithril Nodes

The first node is arguably the easiest to get. Once you arrive at the Wizard, look immediately to your left. There is a node sitting right there. Because of its proximity to the teleporter, it’s one of the most convenient spots in the game. I usually use Rock Explosion on the top section and then finish the bottom half with a steel pickaxe.

First node

To find the second node, you don’t have to travel very far. Follow the main path forward from the first spot and head up the nearby hill. The node is sitting out in the open. Again, the combination of the Rock Explosion skill and your pickaxe will make quick work of it.

Navigating to the Third Node

The third node requires a little bit of movement but nothing too strenuous. From the second node, run straight and hop off the edge of the cliff to the ground below. Cross the bridge and look for the stairs on your left. These lead up toward a tent on a hill.

There is occasionally a mob that spawns near this tent. Sometimes it’s not there, but if it is, you’ll have to clear it out before you can mine in peace. Image below shows where the mob usually spawns. Once the area is clear, continue past the statue and up the hill to find the third node.

Clearing the Fourth Node for Maximum Yield

If you want to maximize your trip, there is a fourth node nearby. It’s slightly more “high-risk” because it is usually surrounded by zombies or other mobs. You will almost certainly need to clear these out before you start swinging your pickaxe. In my experience, even with the combat, it’s worth the effort. Clearing all four of these nodes typically results in about 52 Mithril Ore, which is a decent haul for a single loop.
