Where to Find Mystic Fiber in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
You can obtain Mystic Fiber by opening loot bags dropped by mage-type mobs, specifically Acolytes and Mages found near the library in Dowdun Reach. While both enemy types drop the necessary bags, targeting Acolytes is generally the better move for casual players. They tend to be easier to isolate, which means you aren’t constantly getting pelted by multiple fireballs at once. It’s a slower process than mining ore, but following a specific path near the library makes the grind much more manageable.
Efficient Mystic Fiber Farming for Casual Players
The library area is the most reliable spot for this because of how the mobs are positioned. Instead of grouping up in large packs, many of the Acolytes here stand on their own, allowing you to take them out one by one without pulling extra aggro. To get there, simply follow the main road and cross the bridge, then keep heading straight until you reach the stairs on your right. Once you’re at the top, you’ll start seeing the Acolytes positioned around the perimeter of the building.

Combat Tips for Fighting Acolytes
Acolytes aren’t the toughest enemies in the game, but they can be annoying if you aren’t paying attention. Their fireball attacks are their main source of damage; they hit fairly hard and even cause a bit of chip damage if you block them.

- Always keep your eyes on the enemy’s hands to time your blocks or dodges.
- If you find yourself fighting two at once—which happens on the opposite side of the library—you’ll need to be much more proactive with your movement to avoid getting flanked.
- Blocking is essential, but dodging is better if you want to avoid that lingering chip damage from their magic.

Opening Loot Bags and Rewards
Once you’ve defeated the mobs, they will drop small loot bags. These are not guaranteed to have Mystic Fiber every single time, but they are the primary source for it. After a short session of clearing the library grounds, you can open these bags from your inventory to see your haul. Along with the Mystic Fiber, these bags are a decent source of other magical components, making the trip worthwhile if you’re looking to upgrade your gear or dive into some higher-tier tailoring.
