How to Complete the Song of the Ancients Quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
You can complete the Song of the Ancients quest by entering the Dragonkin Vault directly south of the camp, using the Scarab Staff to keep the local swarms off you, and interacting with three specific statues. It is mostly an indoor tracking run. If you’ve spent the last few hours getting your character sunburned out in the Umbral Sands, getting underground is a nice change of scenery, even if the vault itself is full of bugs. You don’t actually have to clear the entire dungeon to get this finished, which saves a lot of time if you just want your reputation points.
Navigating the Dragonkin Vault and the Scarab Staff
Getting to the entrance is easy enough. Just mount up at the Moon Garou camp and ride in a straight line south. You can completely ignore the overworld enemies hanging around the exterior; just ride right up to the stone doors and head inside. Quick side note: I had actually poked around this specific vault during an earlier session, so if your interior doors look slightly different than mine, it’s just because a few baseline levers were already pulled on my map.

When you get down the first flight of stairs, jump over to the raised platform and pick up the Scarab Staff. You have to keep this in your hands. If you walk onto the bare stone floors without it, the scarabs will immediately swarm your legs and put a constant damage-over-time tick on your health bar. The annoying part of this mechanic is that the moment you enter combat and swing your weapon, your character automatically drops the staff on the floor.

Activating the First and Second Statues
The first statue is sitting right in front of the platform where you picked up the staff. Click it, then head straight down the next set of stairs. Stick to the main brick path as you walk; it’s the easiest way to keep from pulling the aggro radiuses of the mobs sitting in the side corners.

Make your way over to the far side of the room to find the primary quest lever. Pulling this lever triggers an immediate ambush of three to four enemies. I would advise doing this after interacting with the second statue, which you will find in a room to the left of the lever. Now that you have the second statue, go pull the lever. Drop your staff, clear the room out, pick the staff back up, and continue through to the next room.

The Vault Core and the Third Statue
Proceed through the doorway you just opened. This little intermediate room holds a chest and a Vault Core. Taking them isn’t strictly required to finish the quest, but you might as well grab the core and chest.

Follow the glowing line on the floor into the next chamber to find the third statue. It’s mounted high up to the right of the main pillar, just sitting above the top of the door frame. Do not waste your time pulling the side levers in this room unless you personally feel like clearing the rest of the vault.

To reach the statue:
- Drop the Scarab Staff on the ground a few paces back.
- Walk up the broken stone column.
- Cast your Windstep spell to platform directly from the top of the column over to the statue ledge.

Because you left the staff on the floor, the scarabs are going to start biting you. They will stop once you jump up to the platform where the statue is. Once that’s done, you can just walk out the front door, get back on your mount, and turn the quest in at the camp for your Moon Garou Tribe reputation.
