How to Get Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders

The Assessor Matrix is an Epic-tier ARC material in ARC Raiders that only drops from breaching Assessors during the Close Scrutiny map condition. You can’t find it in Probes, Couriers, or regular containers – the only way to get one is to track down an Assessor, breach its containers, and hope the drop is there.

If you’re working on the High-Gain Antenna player project, you’ll need 24 Assessor Matrices total across Stages 2 and 3. With the project set to expire on April 27, time is running out to collect everything you need. Here’s exactly how to farm Assessor Matrix items as fast as possible, and what else you can do with them.

What Is the Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders?

The Assessor Matrix is an Epic item introduced with the Flashpoint update. It weighs 0.5 kg, has a sell value of 5,000 coins, and a stack size of 1. It’s not a weapon, consumable, or attachment – it’s purely a crafting and project material.

The main reason you need the Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders right now is the High-Gain Antenna project. Stage 2 requires 6 Assessor Matrices, and Stage 3 requires another 18 – so 24 total to finish the whole thing. That’s a lot of Close Scrutiny runs.

How to Get Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders

There’s only one way to get the Assessor Matrix – breach ARC Assessors during the Close Scrutiny map condition. No shortcuts, no alternative sources. You won’t find it in crashed Probes, ARC Couriers, or any regular container on any map.

Close Scrutiny rotates across Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, and Blue Gate. It does not appear on Stella Montis. Use the MetaForge Event Timers to track when Close Scrutiny is active so you’re not guessing.

When Close Scrutiny is active, the map plays differently. Regular ARC spawns are stripped back – you’ll mainly see Wasps, Hornets, Rocketeers, and the Vaporizer enemies introduced in Flashpoint. Normal container loot is lower value than usual, but the tradeoff is Assessors – high-risk, high-reward ARC structures that can drop the Assessor Matrix, rare materials, and even the Dolabra Blueprint.

How to Breach Assessors for Assessor Matrix Drops

Assessors are large three-legged ARC structures that drop from the sky during Close Scrutiny. When one lands, it shoots three red beams into the air – you can spot these from across the map. They also show up on your map like Probes and Couriers, so you can track where they’re heading before they land.

Each Assessor has three breachable containers – the conical structures at the base of each leg. Here’s how the breaching process works:

• Wait for the platform: A small platform deploys at the base of one container at a time. That’s your signal – the container is ready to breach. You can’t force it early, so hold near the Assessor and wait.
• Breach and loot fast: Interact with the container to breach it, then grab what’s inside. Each container has a chance to drop an Assessor Matrix, along with other ARC materials. If you’re lucky, you can pull up to 3 Assessor Matrices from a single Assessor.
• Don’t waste time: If you leave containers too long after they become available, the Assessor can launch back into the sky and take all remaining loot with it. Once you commit to an Assessor, stay on it and breach all three.

Assessors are heavily guarded. Breaching triggers an alert that draws in nearby ARC, including Rocketeers and Vaporizers. On top of that, other raiders in the lobby will be heading to the same Assessor – so you’re dealing with a full PvPvE situation.

Best Strategies for Farming ARC Raiders Assessor Matrix

Getting to an Assessor is the easy part. Actually walking away with an Assessor Matrix is where things get tricky. Here are the two main approaches players are using:

Stealth Approach – Photoelectric Cloak

The Photoelectric Cloak is the most consistent method for farming Assessor Matrix items solo. Activate it before you reach the Assessor, and every ARC enemy in the area ignores you completely. Walk up, wait for the platform, breach, loot, and walk away. No fighting, no wasted ammo, no healing.

The downside is that you can’t use a weapon while the Cloak is active, which leaves you completely exposed to other raiders. If another player spots you breaching, you’re defenseless. Pair the Cloak with smoke grenades thrown at the container before you breach – this blocks line of sight from both ARC and other players, giving you a few extra seconds to grab the loot and move.

Combat Approach – Squad Play

If you’re running with a squad, the best play is to split roles. One or two players draw ARC aggro and deal with Vaporizers while the other player focuses entirely on breaching containers. Bring heavy hitters – the Hullcracker, Jupiteror Wolfpacks all work well for melting Vaporizers fast. Stack Bandages, Shield Rechargers, and plenty of healing since Close Scrutiny fights get intense.

This approach burns more resources per run, but you’ll clear Assessors faster and can split the loot across your team. Just keep an eye on other raiders – squads rushing the same Assessor can turn into a full firefight in seconds.

Tips for Farming Assessor Matrix in ARC Raiders

1. Track Close Scrutiny with Event Timers

Don’t queue blindly and hope for Close Scrutiny. Use the MetaForge Event Timers to see exactly when and where Close Scrutiny is active. Since the condition rotates across Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, and Blue Gate, planning your sessions around it saves a ton of time.

2. Safe Pocket Immediately

The second you pull an Assessor Matrix from a container, put it in your Safe Pocket. You’re going to have ARC and other raiders on top of you, and dying with an Epic material in your inventory is painful. If you find a Dolabra Blueprint in the same container, prioritize Safe Pocketing the blueprint first – you can always farm more Matrices.

3. Combine with Vaporizer Regulator Farming

The High-Gain Antenna also needs 19 Vaporizer Regulators total, and Vaporizers spawn during Close Scrutiny too. Kill every Vaporizer you see on the way to an Assessor – they can drop multiple Regulators per kill. You’ll naturally progress both material requirements in the same runs.
