How to Craft Demonic Oil in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
You can craft Demonic Oil at a Brewing Cauldron by combining six Necrotic Bone Meal, three Vile Ashes, and one Glass Vessel. It is a slightly tedious process because it requires gathering materials from different regions and processing them across multiple crafting stations in your base. However, breaking the recipe down step-by-step makes it a straightforward routine once you know where to look.
Gathering and Processing the Ingredients
The recipe for Demonic Oil pulls from several different crafting disciplines. You will need to do a bit of mining in Dowdun Reach, some mob farming at the Garrison, and spend a fair amount of time standing at your base’s Grindstone to refine your raw materials before you can actually start brewing.
Crafting the Glass Vessel
The Glass Vessel acts as the container for the oil. To make one, you first need Molten Glass. If you don’t have the raw materials, head to Dowdun Reach to mine Sandstone and the newer Limestone nodes. You can check our Interactive map for exact locations. Bring the raw stone back to your base and process them at the Grindstone; it costs one raw stone to make one ground version.
Next, take your ground materials to the Blast Furnace. You will need three Ground Sandstone, three Ground Limestone, and some fuel pellets to smelt one Molten Glass. Finally, take that Molten Glass to the Jeweler’s bench to shape your Glass Vessel.
Sourcing Necrotic Bonemeal
You might already have a stack of Necrotic Bonemeal sitting in your storage from previous combat runs. If you find yourself running low, it is very easy to produce. You just need to collect Undead Bones from standard undead mobs and process them at the Grindstone. The conversion rate requires three Undead Bones to produce a single Necrotic Bonemeal.
Farming Vile Ashes at the Garrison
The final ingredient, Vile Ashes, comes from the small ash piles dropped by demonic enemies. The most reliable spot to farm these is at the Garrison. There is a specific room on the main floor that contains four Hellrats and one Black Knight. The Hellrats are very weak and make for an easy, low-risk farm, though you should keep your guard up around the Knight as his attacks hit quite hard.
If you are wearing upgraded gear and want to collect your loot bags much faster, you can head to the rooms directly below this area. These underground rooms are filled with Hellhounds, which provide a faster farm but present a significantly higher risk of dying.
Brewing the Demonic Oil
Once you have all the refined materials in your inventory, walk over to your Brewing Cauldron. Open the interface and look under the “Reagents” tab to find the Demonic Oil option. The final recipe cost is:
- 6 Necrotic Bone Meal
- 3 Vile Ashes
- 1 Glass Vessel
Simply process the materials at the cauldron to finish the craft. If you plan on making a lot of Demonic Oil in the future, it is highly recommended to build a few extra Grindstones at your base to handle the high volume of bone and stone grinding required for this recipe.
