If your goal is to figure out how to get Medic XP in WARDOGS, you’re in the right place. To gain Medic XP effectively:

  1. Hop into a server and purchase multiple Bandages and the Emergency Resuscitator
  2. Use an SMG as your Primary weapon (preferably the starting SMG all the way through, the AMP-9)
  3. If you’re high enough level, bring a Defibrillator and some Batteries (Level 11 Medic required)
  4. Move out into the Control Zone in areas you see the most teammates in
  5. Use your SMG to secure kills and heal up & revive injured teammates for maximum Medic XP gains

The Best XP Early Game for Medic XP

The aim of the game as a Medic to progress your track is exactly what it says on the tin – you need to be the field doctor everyone can rely on. This’ll have you running between all your nearby teammates patching them up with consumables such as Bandages or reviving downed teammates raw or with medical equipment. The best way to gain XP early for the medic is:

  1. To exclusively use an SMG for all of your kills, each kill is 250 Medic XP (275 for a headshot)
  2. Revive any downed teammate you see with the Emergency Resuscitator
  3. Heal up anybody you can see
  4. Profit off of getting as many revived players to give you kill assists as possible (also known as “Revived Player Assists”)

The majority of your XP early will come from SMG kills, so heading to dangerous areas like the Hot Zone or an enemy Tower is the best way to start your progress. Once you reach Level 11 Medic, you’ll unlock the Defibrillator, boosting your leveling speed.

Reviving a player gives you the same amount of XP as killing a player with an SMG would. As a result in hectic fights with teammates, your efficiency can nearly double once you reach Level 11 Medic. The Defibrillator takes a short moment of charging to prime itself. Once primed, you can then instantly revive the teammate you aim at. This is much quicker on the battlefield than a raw revive or even a resuscitator.

Revived Player Assists

Each player you revive also can give you a return on your investment in them. After being revived, every kill or assist the revived player gets gives you both cash and Medic XP every time. As a result, the number of players you revive can quickly start racking up a huge wave of profit.

Every Bandage used early on gives you 80 Medic XP too, which can add up quickly when it take 2-3 Bandages per player to heal them to full most the time.

What Medic XP is and how it differs from your account level

WARDOGS uses a broad progression system based around specific role-based tracks. These tracks supplement the overall account level you have. Depending on how you spend your time in the game, you’ll find yourself heading down a playstyle path based on those choices. Using Medic-specific items such as the Medical Bag or SMGs increase your Medic level AND your account level simultaneously. However, other moments in gameplay, such as getting a kill with a vehicle, a SMG, or simply surviving in the zone, will level your account level or another track only.

Medic XP Curve, Numbers and Unlocks

As you can see from our XP Tables, you mainly need to watch out for the Defibrillator, Individual First-Aid Kit and Medical Bag milestones for help in progressing. Medic is a slow starting but very rewarding track to progress. As a Medic, you’re not only a major factor in your team winning, but even keeping yourself alive with better medical items. Take a careful look into our XP tables to see how far you need to go for your ideal loadout and plan ahead.

Of course, as with anything that is in an Early Access build state, things can and likely will change frequently. Keep checking back for up to date progression information!

Frequently asked questions

What is the fastest way to get Medic XP in WARDOGS?

As of August 2026, the fastest way to get Medic XP in WARDOGS is to rush Level 11 Medic using Bandages, an SMG and Emergency Resuscitator to unlock the Defibrillator. Then, continue to use the SMG, healing consumables on teammates and revive as many teammates as possible. This way you benefit from “Revived Player Assists”.

Do you need kills to level up Medic in WARDOGS?

No, you technically do not need kills to level up Medic in WARDOGS. However, using an SMG does give Medic XP on kill. As a result, a mix of SMG kills, reviving and healing teammates is a must that we recommend.

How much does Medic pay in WARDOGS?

Medic in WARDOGS provides the standard kill pay (ranging from $1,750 upward – or lower if a repeat kill). Each consumable that heals a teammate pays up to $400 depending on amount healed. It also matters if it’s a teammate you haven’t healed in a small while. Reviving a player can range from $1,200 upward or lower depending on if it’s a repeat revive or reviving a higher value teammate in the match. “Revived Player Assists” pay on average $375 on a fresh kill.

Is Medic XP separate from your account level

Every action in WARDOGS contributes to your account level. However, specific actions feed into both account level and a progression path it’s tied to. In the case of Medic, using medical consumables on your teammates, getting kills with an SMG and reviving players progress both the Medic track and account level.

Does Medic progress carry over from Beta to Early Access?

No, your progress will not carry over into Early Access. Also, Early Access and the game in general operates on a wipe model.

Will these payouts still be accurate at Early Access launch?

Unknown. Every number here comes from a pre-release build, and economy values are among the first things adjusted in a live Early Access title.
