WARDOGS

WARDOGS Towers act as a varying objective on the map each game, in short, Towers exist for several reasons:

  1. As a decent foundation for a F.O.B build to utilize the high ground the Tower naturally gives
  2. To enter the Tower, capture it and find a specific code number within
  3. To use all Tower codes within a match to activate a powerplay mechanic
  4. As a result of the 3 previous reasons, it gives all 3 factions a fixed-location to fight over

What are WARDOGS Towers?

Towers in WARDOGS act as a fixed objective inside the Control Zone on the map. While it’s not mandatory to attack and control them, there is major benefits to a team that knows how they work and how to fully take advantage of the Tower’s powerplay mechanic.

WARDOGS Towers location

Every fresh match start has several configurations of both amounts of Towers and which will be present in the game. You’ll be able to open your map at any time and see where the Towers are located, who controls them and the cooldown remaining to be capturable again. They can also act as a building position for a F.O.B to create a powerful defensive position.

How do you Capture Towers in WARDOGS?

To capture Towers in WARDOGS, the Tower first needs to not be on a cooldown. You can check the cooldown by hovering over the Tower icon on the map, or by checking the console inside. If it’s not on cooldown, then:

  1. Make your way up into the Tower, clearing any enemies
  2. Once you’re inside, head up one floor above the entry point
  3. You’ll see a operations room with computers, tech etc, this is the capture room
  4. Walk up to the main console screen (with a keypad next to it) and hold the interact key (usually “F”)
  5. Following the bar filling, the Tower will flip to the color of your team, now belonging to your Faction
  6. The console screen reveals a single digit of a code, capturing all towers reveals the whole code

Keeping track of these codes allows you to either make guesses at the remaining missing digits or collect them all for a powerplay.

What is the Hot Zone Magnet in WARDOGS?

The Hot Zone Magnet is the true powerplay of owning all Towers or figuring out the Tower code. The Hot Zone is a small zone within the main Control Zone that provides double the cash gain per score tick in the match, but also counts players a 2 players instead of 1 while inside. As a result, having some form of control in the Hot Zone gives you more of a fighting chance to win.

When you control every Tower on the map and have full access to the codes on the console screens, you can begin the powerplay. Punch in the digits on the keypad next to the console to activation a “Hot Zone Magnet” phase.

Initiating this code will force the Hot Zone to start moving towards the Tower the code was activated from. No matter where the Hot Zone is on the map, it is going to end up directly on top of the activated Tower for a period of time. This is where the powerplay occurs for a team that owns the towers. Knowing that the Hot Zone is pulling to a specific Tower, your team can build a mega base around it to fully defend and gain as much score as possible in that timeframe.

You can see where the Hot Zone is headed and which Tower activated it by the white dash lines coming from the Hot Zone on the map.

Player-built Drill Site

While it is true that Towers play an important part in WARDOGS for objective control and vantage points, it is not the only way to utilize the Towers main mechanic. With the right tools, players can set-up a Buildable Drill Site, acting as a mini-Tower on a faction-owned F.O.B during the game. If fueled to the maximum (6000/6000), you can activate the Drill to become a Hot Zone magnet. As a result, you can utilize both the Tower and the Drill for maximum advantage.

Which maps in WARDOGS have Towers?

Currently both available maps tested in the Alpha & Beta use Towers as a major objective. The maps being Bakurani and Ozeti.

Due to the nature of Alphas, Betas & Early Access, Towers, mechanics, and the way they work together may change at any time in a build. Check out our WARDOGS section for guides, interactive maps, ballistics information and much more.
