StarRupture Beginner Guide: Survival, Base Building, and Ruptures
Getting started in StarRupture can be a bit of a shock, mostly because the planet essentially tries to incinerate you every twenty minutes or so. It is a dense mix of factory automation and high-stakes survival that doesn’t leave much room for error. If you have just stepped out of your Orbital Lander, you need a clear plan to handle your basic needs while establishing a production line that actually scales.

Your priority is securing food and water from the crater’s immediate surroundings before the first star rupture hits.
Managing Your Survival Stats and Toxicity
Managing your survival stats is the first hurdle you’ll face. You have three main meters to watch: Calories, Hydration, and Toxicity. For food and water, you should look for Polifruit, which are orange, corn-like plants, and Hydrobulbs, which are blue flowers typically found near water sources.

These are your staples because they have zero toxicity. If you eat unknown alien foods, your toxicity rises, and if it hits 100, your character will vomit, instantly emptying your stomach and thirst meters. It is a very efficient way to die of dehydration, so it’s best to stick to the basic plants until you can build a proper Food Station.
Surviving the Star Rupture Firestorm
The most unique threat on Arcadia-7 is the “Wave,” or the star rupture itself. Every so often, the star Ruptura explodes, and you will see a countdown on your HUD. When that timer hits zero, you have about five seconds to be inside a sealed building like your Lander or a Habitat with an Airlock.

If you are caught outside, the heat will kill you instantly. However, there is a silver lining to this destruction. The window immediately following a firestorm is the best time to explore. The wave temporarily wipes out the local alien population, and rare materials like Ignitium only appear while the planet is cooling down.
Base Building and the Pocket Base Strategy
When it comes to base building, you shouldn’t worry about aesthetics in the early game. Your first base doesn’t need to look good; it just needs to be functional and defensible. I suggest building in the southwest near the Lander initially, ideally against a cliff face or on elevated platforms to limit the directions aliens can attack from.

A vital tip for explorers is to always carry what I call a “Pocket Base” kit: keep one Meteor Heart and at least 100 Basic Building Materials in your inventory at all times. If a rupture warning starts while you are far from home, you can instantly drop a Base Core and a Habitat to survive the heat. Since you get a full resource refund when deconstructing, there is no downside to this.

Corporation Progression and Commissions
Progressing in StarRupture is tied to your reputation with various Corporations rather than a traditional leveling system. You gain status by shipping goods via the Orbital Cargo Launcher . Early on, you should prioritize leveling up the Griffith Blue Corporation to Level 2 as quickly as possible to unlock the UPP-7 Pistol.

The Harvester tool is a terrible weapon, and exploring without a gun is essentially suicide once you leave the starting crater. You should also aim to get Moon Energy Corporation to Level 3, as this unlocks the Map and removes the “Fog of War,” allowing you to actually find the abandoned outposts where the best blueprints are hidden.

Another resource that you can use to make finding blueprints, Abandoned Bases, Dead Bodies, Geo Scanners, and Resources easier, would be using our Interactive Map! You can filter the items/resources you are looking for, and it will show you every location you can find them. This comes in very handy when searching for the blueprints needed to craft some of the items needed for the corporations.

Early Game Automation and Resource Scouting
Finally, you should transition to automation as soon as you have the basic machines unlocked. Don’t waste your time hand-crafting every bar or plate. Set up Ore Excavators on Titanium and Wolfram deposits and feed them directly into Smelters via rails. If you stand on a high hill with your construction tool equipped, it will highlight all nearby ore deposits, making it easier to plan your factory expansion.

To help with the automation of your buildings, you can use tools like our Production Planner that help you structure your base in order to build the resource/item you want. How it works is you decide what item you want to build such as Wolfram Plates or Titanium Rods. You head over to our StarRupture Database and search for the items. Click on the item and on the right-hand side you will see the exact machines you need to build to get the Wolfram Plates or Titanium Rods.

As you progress through the game, you can use this same Production Planner with some more advanced items like the Nozzle or Impeller. Making these items requires far more machines and much better planning to produce them quickly.

Always keep an eye out for orange lights in the distance while exploring; these usually signify rubble piles or abandoned bases that contain the War Bonds and unique blueprints you need to reach the mid-game.

You can grab the game on the Steam Store Page. Currently, the game is only available on Steam, but hopefully, it will expand to other platforms and consoles in the near future.
